Pic after Detail....

Just a quick pic until I get a better digicam.. I just bought a kodak thinking it was a good one, should be for over $200 but I guess not. So here's what I am left with after....

-2 passes with Menzerna Intensive Polish
-2 passes with Menzerna Final Polish II
-1 Coat Klasse AIO Sealant
-3 coats Klasse Sealant Glaze
-Topped with Pinnacle Souveran Carnauba Wax

I took some more pics today with the same cam, looks like, from what I can see on the preview screen that they turned out well.. I'll post them later on tonight when I get home. I attempted to capture the amazing reflections, we'll see how that worked. I have some pics of the trunk/rear bumper after wiping with paint thinner and buffing with compound and polish. Apparently some local kids were bored, they decided to spray paint the entire back part of the truck, rear bumper, spoiler and that silver!! Luckily I wax my car often or it probably would have been much harder to remove. Wish I could keep it in a garage as well, but I have the SL in the garage.

Looks smooth.

Now get it away from that garage background, and take at least one pic of it from the front.

hahaha, I detailed my car yesterday too, exept it took me 4 1/2 hours, not 6

I used the turtle wax (carnuba wax in the can) for the first time...nasty smell, but its good stuff...

Paint looks good, but why would you spend six hours on the car and not wash the wheel wells out? I'm a bit picky about that, especially on a dark car. I keep a wash mit just for that purpose which I use in my first stages of cleaning. After the wheels and wheel wells, I change water, and wash mit and go to the body. Your time is just about right, takes me six hours for a basic detail, another hour if I condition the leather.

detailing a car for me, especially my car takes me about 6 hours, depending on how bad any one area is. Usually, most of my time is spent on the exterior since in my opinion, it takes the most abuse.

Believe it or not I DID clean out the wheel wells when I washed the car, but on the ride home from the car wash (we aren't allowed to wash cars here according to condo assoc.) I apparently drove through something. I ended up washing them out again for the pics the next day. I've been trying to hunt down a product that will prevent the dirt from sticking as easily in the wells.

I'm that guy that everyone hates at the drive in car wash, because I take out my bucket, wash mit, car shampoo wash, and all the supplies, and all I use is the rinse setting/spot free rinse setting only to fill the bucket and then to rinse the car.
