Paint Splatter Help

Need some help.

Let my wife drive my 03 Black TL Type S while I was away on a two week business trip. While I was gone she somehow ran over white paint that had spilled on the raod and it caused tiny white paint spots up the side of the car. She didn't say anything about it until I notice it when I got home. By that time the paint had completely dried and I have not been able to get the spots off.

I am looking for any suggestions on how to remove the spots. Will waxing remove the spots. How about the clay bar I have been reading about. And if this will work how do you use it and what do I have to do after using it to protect the car.

Any suggestions would be helpful. I have had the car less than a year and want to make it look like new again. I have recently bought a few accessories (rims and body kit) that I want to get installed but not until I can take care of the paint.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It depends on how tiny - but claying should get them off - it's used to get overspray off and what not - if the clay does not work try a good citrus based cleaner for auto paint (you can get one at wall mart beleive it or not).

Thanks. The spots are very tiny though there are probably 50 of them. I will try the citrus based cleaner first.

Thanks again.

Keep the suggestions coming just in case.

Try the clay first as the citrus based cleaner may smear the paint - the clay *should* pick it right up

Worst case scenario, use a rubbing compound to get the paint off. Then follow up with a scratch remover or polish. Something like Meguiar Scratch X works well for that. Follow off with a coat of wax to seal and protect the finish.

Goodluck.

I would try the claybar first!
Wax does not clean your car...it's not a cleaner - it's just the final sealing/protecting step involved in the process. ...It will simply protect the paint -- however it may look before you apply the wax (which is why you want to make sure your car is as clean as possible before waxing so that you're not just 'sealing in' all the dirt).

Stay away from compounds. Go with 3M tar/Adhesive remover first, then follow with clay, then polish and seal......
