Paint measurement

Paint measurement
For a limited time, I will measure your paint free of charge to give you some idea how thick your paint is and if any metal panels were repainted.
No advice...just paint measurements. Just want to give back to Acurazine members in the NYC area.
I live in NYC and you would have to drive to zip code 11377.

Here's some advice from Acurazine member TOGWT:
A paint thickness reading of > 4 Mil ( 100 ΅ (Microns) is reasonably safe for polishing. 3 3.5 Mil ( 80-90 ΅) I wouldn't use anything stronger than > 2000 grit polish, 2.75 3.0 Mil (70-80 ΅) > 2500 grit polish and under 2.75 Mil (70 ΅) use a glaze. The readings tend to vary from panel to panel and are thinner towards the panel edge.
Most light surface marring is ~1.27 ΅ (0 .05 Mils) a surface scratch that can catch your fingernail is ~1.01 ΅ (~ 0.04 Mils) Using a medium abrasive polish and a rotary polisher will remove approximately ~ 2.5 - 3΅ (~ 0. 98 0.12 Mil) from the paint surface. To remove a scratch you need to level the paint to its lowest part, so if a scratch is 1 ΅ thats the amount of paint (and UV protection) you need to remove to eliminate it.
Note: 25.4 ΅ (micron) = 1 Mil
200΅ + can be expected on older cars that have been hand painted or a re-painted vehicle
100 200΅ 4 8 mil - normal paint thickness
80 100 ΅ - 3 4 mils, thin paint
80 ΅ < - less than 3 mil, very thin paint

No, I did not ask about time to detail a car..... I asked about "maintenance polish" time. I am not qualified to give advice relating to paint thickness. Liability is a headache I do not need.
Measuring paint thickness can be useful for people who have performed numerous compounding jobs on the same car. Also for a newbie who should not have used a rotary buffer or tried wetsanding in the past.
An example is a 2006 TSX I measured.....only mid 80's to mid 90's in microns. Thin paint...so the owner has to be careful about paint correction.
I am interested in polishing my TL going forward...it's getting too expensive to pay 300+ dollars a year to pay a quality detailer to do it in NYC. My problem is that I do not have a garage to do it....NYC air is DIRTY.
