Optimum No Rinse question.

Hello,

I'm sure that a lot of people have done this already, but can I mix water and ONR in a spray bottle for things such as bird bombs, quick touch-ups, etc? If so, how would I want to dilute the ONR? I have an extra Meguiar's spray bottle, and it has the markings for 10:1 ratio, and 4:1. Would either of those work?

Also, if I were to do this, how long would the ONR stay good in the bottle?

Thanks much!

Jeff

Do a 4oz:1gal ratio if you want to use ONR as a quick detailer. Much cheaper, and works great as clay lube... you could probably get away with using just 2.5-3oz as well

so if there are 128 ounces in a gallon, and your Meguiars bottle is 32oz, then you would want to do 1oz for 32oz of water, 1/4 the solution for the 1/4 of water as stated by wong05tsx.

4:1 would mean you'd have five total parts and it really depends on how large of a container you're going to be using. For simplicity, if you were to use a 32 oz container and were to dilute your ONR to 3:1, that would mean you'd use 1 part ONR (8 oz) and 3 parts distilled water (24 oz).

I hope that makes sense.

1/4oz per qt, based on 1oz per gal for QDing and claying and washing.
4 qts = 1 Gal
32oz = 1 qt

you both make sense...I don't generally see anywhere where it says 4-1 or 10-1, but as far as the oz per gallon go, I think I have the right process.

I'll try to take a pic of my Meg's bottle, LOL...

Thanks guys!

Lastly, how long will the ONR in a spray bottle last for? Can it sit for weeks on the shelf mixed, or no?

if you have an old medican cup, comes on top of dimatap(spelling), that generally is 1oz..put one of those full into the bottom, and fill up to almost the very top at the neck where it bumps out a little bit.

AFAIK, it shouldn't degrade at all. However, you'll achieve better results with distilled/deionized water.
