Opti-Coat + 3M Clear Bra Question
Im picking up a new car in the next few weeks and the #1 thing on my list is to protect the finish. The dealer is having a 3M clear bra installed for me at no cost, but want to know if that can be applied over the Opti-Coated paint?
Can you use a glaze or wax on top of it to bring out a deeper shine, or is that overkill?
Also, can anyone that have used it share any tips? Im a bit nervous since its a permanent coating, I really dont want to screw it up. I have read the instructions on AutoGeek, so it looks like Ill have to work pretty fast to make sure it levels out properly.

I definitely wouldnt apply over the clear bra.
I was just thinking that it would be best to coat the entire car, let it set for a few days, then have the bra installed. Im under the assumption the whatever the 3M installer uses to clean the paint wont eat into the Opti-Coat or cause any issues with the bra sticking.

No need to apply it under or over the clear bra.

Out of curiosity, I know the 3M clear bras usually last +/- 5 years before they start to yellow. If I were to pull it off and apply the Opti-Coat at that point, will it not be level where the bra met the coating? Or is it so thin that it wouldnt even be visible?

Is it safe to assume you think it would be best to just apply Opti-Coat wherever the clear bra isnt?
What about my last question regarding the level of the coating? I read that if you apply too much in one area and its not level, you'll need to polish it down. So when I do eventually pull the bra off when it yellows (hopefully not for many years since the car will be garaged or under a cover), I can just apply the Opti-Coat to the front end and if there is any unevenness, just polish it down?
