Question Nose Mask....Worth It?

OK, I'm contemplating the purchase of a full nose mask for my 4-week-old TSX, before Construction Season hits here in SW Michigan. MY QUESTION: Do you still have to take them off everytime it rains? Can anyone with one of these explain any maintanence issues--specifically, someone who has to deal with various (severe) climates and season changes (SoCal owners can just SKIP this thread!!)

I have the full nose mask. I don't drive around with it on in normal day to day city driving. I use it when I go on longer trip, especially in the summer. You don't have to take it off when it rains. What you should do is remove it after a rainy day and let it dry out overnight.

If you leave a wet mask on your car, you risk damage to the paint finish and the mask.

Thanks for the info. A few follow-ups: does it take long to pop the mask off? And why don't you use it on a daily basis? My daily-basis driving involoves lots of freeways with LOTS of rocks flying at my Beauty...which is exactly why I want the mask.

if you dont like the hassle of putting on/removing the mask or how it looks, another option is to get a clear bra. i have it on my ride and haven't regretted it since. u can find more info at www.xpel.com

I also have the nose mask and only use it for long trips because I think it looks ugly and is a pain in the ass to be taking it off and letting it dry every time it rains. I did the install myself and it took my about 90mins to get it on the first time and about 15-20 each time after that. It only takes about 5 mins to come off.

I checked out the website. It is expensive, but would be worth it if I plan on holding onto any paint finish on these horrible roads. How does the X-Pel coating affect the look of the paint? doesn't it look weird when compared to the (uncoated) side panels? i would think that the shine would be considerably different--especially if you can't clean your car that often.

I assume you can't be taking this thing on and off regularly, either, eh? I think I would probably try professional installation. Is this product really for a daily-use car?
