New Zaino user. Question on application

Just to be sure I have my sequence down. It's been a while since I've really waxed the car, but here is how I was planning on doing it. I have a PC 7424 to use in the process. Should parts of this be done by hand though?

Wash with dish detergent to clean the car.
Clay bar
Wash again with Z-7
Wax with Z-5 for swirl marks and scratches
Spray and wipe with Z-6
Wax with mix of Z-2 and ZFX
Spray and wipe with Z-6
Wax with mix of Z-2 and ZFX
Spray and wipe with Z-6
Stand back and admire the results

This is my once a year routine. All other times should just be a wash, detail spray and coat of Z-2.

Does this sound good?

Yep, looks good to me. But, I think using a PC is a little overkill if all you're doing is applying layers of Zaino. Z-5 hides scratches by filling them in, but if this is your once a year routine, why not put the PC to good use and use an abrasive polish to get rid of the scratches and swirl marks? Then I'd go with what you've proposed. It would hurt to apply Z-5, but I find my PC has made it almost obsolete.

Isn't that what the Z-5 is for. A semi abrasive polish to get rid of any scratches and swirl marks?

It is supposed to reduce swirl marks and scratches but it is not an abrasive.

From their website:

"We've engineered our Z-5™ Show Car Polish formula with revolutionary, non-abrasive, micro-filler polymer technology to help hide minor surface imperfections. The result is an optically perfect finish that's not only wet, deep and mirror-like, but durable and long-lasting. "

I don't think I need anything that abrasive yet. The scratch and swirl remover should be OK for now.

Thanks,
James

Z5 needs to be mixed with ZFX too.

One tip I always give out is to spritz the applicator pad with a little Z6 before you put on the Z2 or Z5. Makes it flow well and allows you to put those very thin coats you are trying to achieve.

Put on as much Z5 until you feel comfortable with the swirl reduction (if any), then go to the Z2

Ya I saw that in the application instructions. Thanks for the tip.

You can apply Z5 and Z2 by by hand. I've found it very easy to apply Zaino with a finishing pad and the PC. I use a Lake Country black finishing pad. Makes it really easy to get thin even coats.

If anything, Z5 will hide some light swirls/scratches. It doesn't remove them.

The Zaino cleaner/polish should hit the streets in another few weeks.
