New mdx, fresh zaino!
Was planning to hit the links today, but woke up to a steady rain... so... decided to pull the wife's brand new 2012 MDX in Grigio Metallic out into the rain to give her a bath! We have REALLY hard water here in TN, so the rain eliminated the chance of any of the panels developing water spots before I could get to drying the car.
So, here's what I did over about 7.5 hours today:
I'm very pleased with how it turned out. It's taken several attempts over the past year to get the right applicator for Zaino. The cotton one's they supply suck... I always put on too much product with those, which makes it a PITA to remove. I've found that the sponges they provide (they're 3 layers - white, blue, black) do a MUCH better job at spreading and evening out the product, which makes removal a breeze! I just prime the black side of the sponge with a couple squirts of Z6, then add the Z5 very sparingly. Had to apply very little pressure while buffing to remove the haze! However, after 7.5 hours of "wax on/wax off" I doubt I'll be able to lift my arms tomorrow!

So, here's what I did over about 7.5 hours today:
- Wash with Dawn detergent, then rewash with Z7
- Dried, then buffed with a lite coat of Z6 to make sure all water spots were gone
- Hand buffed with ZPC to remove a few paint imperfections from the dealer prep
- Lite coat of Z6 after the buffing
- AIO entire vehicle, let dry for 30 mins, then buffed
- Lite coat of Z6
- Z5 entire vehicle, let dry for 30 mins, then buffed
- Lite coat of Z6
- One coat of Clear Seal for good measure, let dry for 1 hour
- Lite coat of Z6
- Buffed the hood and roof with a lite coat of Z8
- Dress the tires with Zaino tire dressing
