New BlackMagic Tire Shine & Car Shampoo.

We recently had access to some of the new BlackMagic Tire Shine and Car Shampoo.

Some of this product was given away recently at the National Acurazine Meet in Kansas City.

I tried the shampoo today and really liked it. Lots of suds and a great finish!

Hockeyman tried the Tire Shine-here are his pictures.

If you won some of this product at the Nation Meet and you've used this product, please post your review!

^^thanks man...love the metallic blue calipers & hubs...looks similar to KBP.

I've gotta apply more of that tire wax...didn't want to overdo it in case of splatter, but I think it can handle more. Will take more pics once that's done. So far...

Still on the fence about tire dressing, I always notice sidewall cracking after a couple of yrs using that stuff.

To me, tires that are dressed MAKE the looks of the car. If it's a well cleaned car, and the tires are not dressed-the job isn't finished.

Usually thats from dressing over dirty tires.. Cracking comes from UV exposure.

When you refer to "that stuff " are you refering to this specific product or dressings in general?

I think the product name was listed wrong before....how do i know? I got a package of BlackFIRE and not BLACKMAGIC...

I have used the Blackfire paint sealant before and love how easy that product is to use and the end results of it....so when i got this package with the Blackfire Shampoo and Conditioner and Blackfire Tire Dressing, I was ecstatic !!!

The blackfire conditioner says that its mild to use and does not take the layers of wax off...so I use it as my between detail washes....it foams up pretty well and the most important thing is it comes off DAMN WELL !!! I have seen some shampoos leave a residue but not this one....the car comes out clean as fawk !!!

The blackfire tire dressing is awesome as well....the best part is you can achieve a gloss or just a clean look from it....if you use a little product and go over it with an applicator pad or just a microfiber, the tire looks MATTE and very very clean....the minute you use a little more product, you get the GLOSS you desire....so its more like a 1 product fits all kinda deal....

I like the Blackfire product line and will ordering more stuff for sure

Actually yes! This stuff seems to last longer, applies more evenly and has a really nice finish.

Don't get me wrong, the Griot's Tire Shine is excellent, which makes this stuff even better than excellent.

I like my tires looking like they just rolled off the showroom floor. Both products will do this, but Blackfire seems to last longer.

Does the Blackfire Tire gel sling? Other tire gels I've used leave spray spots all down the side of the car - even when I apply sparingly and let bake in the sun before driving!

Tires start to crack due to age and not due to tire dressing. Usually around 2 years to 3 they start to crack. My dads car never had tire dressing has his tires cracking at 2 years. Now at 4 they are looking bad. Only 30k miles but will replace them at 5 years.

Tires have a built in UV protector that comes out with the flexing of the tires .. your dads might be sufferening this way because of the sun and the lack of driving.

All our cars have started to show signs of cracking around 2-3 years. Every place I have asked said its due to dry rotting of the tires and getting old.

Do a little research and I'll quote just a couple

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=30

Goodyear

Probable causes of sidewall weathering
— Long periods of inactivity or storage
— Direct exposure to air and sunlight
— Exposure to high levels of ozone (smog, electrical generators)
— Excessive washing or dressing using alcohol or petroleum based cleaners

1. Nope. Driven daily 20 miles.

2. Sunlight yes as it does sit at his work all day in the sun. All cars get some form of sunlight.

3. No ozone issues here or generators.

4. Soap and water. Tires and wheels removed every rotation get a cleaning with scrubbing and commit on the sidewalks and inner wheels.

So your theory from tire rack doesn't equal to the problem from experienced people who run shops. It's age. Motor week even had a special on it and described what we see exactly.

Most tires are older than when bought and should be replaced at the most every 6-7 years due to age and dry rotting.

Your right as usual ... and smarter than Tire Rack who sell millions of tires a year and I have seen more than my fair share of horror stories from people who run shops ..

BTW there is ozone everywhere , more in some places than others , a major city will have a lot more than small cities .. but its there.

You sir need to do research on dry rot tires. It's common and happens to everyone.

http://www.rightturn.com/tire-safety/dry-rot-tires/

http://www.edmunds.com/car-care/how-...our-tires.html

Tire dressings (water based) usually help a tire and not help it happen. Also it happens without it as its normal for tires to start to crack with age. Research and learn. It might help you.

Great article .. did you notice it doesn't tell you what causes it , and what causes it is what I refered to earlier .. which is part of aging ..

The more you care for and protect your tires the better life they will have ..

Sadly you can't stop age. Protect them as much as you want, but they will still need to be replaced around 6 years due to age and dry rotting. Facts are facts.
