My optimum NRWS review
 

So ive had a bottle of it laying around and just got another bottle along with a 1/2 gallon sprayer from Pat so figured id give it a try.
I work at a detail shop were we do cars for an acura dealer so i had completely washed and waxed my car last night, then this morning it snowed and i had to go out.....long story short my car looks like crap again:whyme:

So tried out the NRWS..
Must say i wash impressed how easy it was to use.just spray on, wipe, and dry. Im sure it helped that i had just waxed it, but still easy.
Its great for what i needed it for, just a quick clean.

Overall: Great product for when a hose isn't available:thumbsup:

How did the 1/2 Gal spritzer work for you?

the spritzer worked great, only thing i would recommend is the full gallon one for people with bigger cars...lol or maybe i just used too much:tomato:

I typically use about 2/3 gallon for the TL-S.

Can you use NRWS without ever doing a real car wash? Or when would it be better to do a real car wash vs. NRWS? It'd be nice if all I have to use for the remainder of my car's life is NRWS, but I'm sure there's a limit, or is there? I thought I would be fine doing a car wash at the manual one but they all have signs that say no hand washing.

If your car is well maintained and on a fairly regular basis, you can wash your car with ONR every time. If the vehicle is not well maintained and/or has caked on mud, really bad tar, etc., your best bet may be going back to the traditional TBM wash.

Me personally, I only do an ONR wash if my car is slightly dirty and know if ONR will take care of it without hassle. Other than that, I don't mind firing up the foam gun (which will soon be the foam cannon) and following it up with the TBM.

But yeah, that's how I do it. :)

For example, like when my (black) car is practically white from road salt, would NRWS be effective?

I usually only wash my car because it's really dirty....though I go through automatic car washes.

Great review. I would like to try this out some times. If I dont wash my car for 2 months, can I still use the NRWS? I wash my car with Optimum Car Wash and wax with DG AW.

i guess it all depends on the situation..I had salt on mine when i did it, but i had also waxed it the night before so i knew it would wipe right off.

If two months without a wash for your area just means some dust and alittle dirt, then i'd saw the NRWS is fine. but for others two months might mean alot of mud or salt,etc.
I would def. recommend it to everyone and see how you like it

Like every product, NRWS does have limits, and as Denzil said, if you went mud whompin, forget it. If your one who washes monthly, or every 1000 miles, this is probably not for you. However, if your somewhat of a car nut who appreciates a clean car, and cringes when birds fly over and is a casual driver, this is probably a great product for you! And I highly recommend pretreating with the spritzer when using NRWS.....

hmm..one month cant be that bad.

^ I would think that a month is a long time to go without a wash.

That's more then enough time to build up a nice layer of dirt on your ride.

To be quite honest, since we live in Cali, we can get away with a lot of ONR washes and almost no traditional washes. Like for those of us here in my area including Hollister, San Jose and just about almost anywhere in the Bay Area, the weather allows us to almost exclusively do ONR washes.

On a well-maintained and well-protected vehicle in this area, I really believe we can do ONR washes all year round if we wanted to. However, like I said, I love my foam gun and soon-to-be foam cannon setup. It's just too much fun.

We really are spoiled compared to the rest of the world, LoL.

With the thick a$$ fog and salty-ness...I don't feel too blessed in San Francisco besides that it remains between 50-70 with no direct sunlight.

Good for detailing and applying/installing products.

Its disgusting. Temps have been in the low to mid 80's? Mother nature needs to check in with the calendar.
Now I hear we have rain coming this week? That will probably get blown out by a hi pressure system........

I just moved from california to philadelphia... keeping a car clean here during the winter is as much of a challenge as it was to learn to drive in the snow. I'm just glad philly doesn't get pounded with snow as bad as the cities just a few miles north :)

I also picked up some of this stuff a few weeks ago. I can't wait to try it out.

If you're in cali, my 4runner hasn't been washed in a month, as it's been close to 0 deg Fahrenheit the last few weeks, there's a good half inch of salt on my paint right now :ugh:

We need rain....bad!

We forget about it and enjoy it now...We are going to be in a major drought come summer. :ugh:

Yes it gets damn cold here in the East boys, it was like 8degrees last week and highs of 18degrees. crazyiness.

I gotta try it out next time.

Nice, Phantoms games are a good time..ever come up for the flyers? and as for the 8 degrees...I was washing cars on saturday and when i'd spray the rims , the soap would freeze immediately it was insane..i actually used the heat gun to defrost them on one car.

I think im gonna use some of this tonight :D, havn't washed the car in ... about a month :ninja:

Just a sidenote, out of the 100's of gallons of NRWS I have sold, NO ONE has ever been dissatisfied......nor did NRWS not live up to their expectations.

Ugh. just typed a full on essay (Okay, not really), and accidently clicked back on my mouse -- erased everything. Lol.. lazy to retype it :x.

But the Double Density MF towel is by far my favorite. I usually use sheepskin mitt to wash, but the DD MF seems more versatile for NRWS washs :)

Dangit, now Im going to have to give it another try......But that thing holds a ton of water!

I've been wanting to apply wax and I haven't even waxed this car since I got it! :loser:

Luckily most of the people around me don't pay much "attention to detail" :snicker:

For your wax question, your short answer is yes. However (yes there's a however, LoL), there are polymers in ONR that give your vehicle that extra bit of shine. Therefore there may be some issues with your wax curing on the paint like your wax smearing (I'm not talking about hazing here, two different things) across your paint.

My suggestion is that you clay your vehicle and use a pre-wax cleaner or paintwork cleanser (same thing, different name) right before your wax to ensure proper curing and maximize durability of your wax of choice.

Once you feel your glass smooth paint, you'll never want to not take care of your car again, hehe. :tongue:

I might just do another car wash, clay, and wax on wednesday when I have a day off. Oh btw Denzil, I layed like half a bottle of that bug/tar remover on the side skirts and its definitely helping. Had to scrub a little to get that crap off

LOL. Get all the shit on your car and then you can drop it off at my house. You gotta go somewhere though because I dont think I can hold a conversation and detail your car at the same time. It'll cost you dinner though. You gotta take care of that cf hood though since I dont know jack about cf.
