Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer

Just posting a about this product. It clean's without leaving the shine, which is what I was looking for on my Ebony interior. Here's the manufacturer's desciption:

"The fastest way to clean all interior surfaces. Use every time you wash or Quik Detail your paint to give your interior that “just detailed” look. In just 5 additional minutes, your entire interior will look sharp and smell fresh. Quickly and easily maintains the look and feel of interior plastics, vinyl, leather, rubber, metal and even audio/video equipment. The safe, high lubricity formula lifts off dust, ashes, dirt, grime, spills and fingerprints without build-up. And, unlike traditional protectants that leave an artificial greasy feeling, Quik Interior Detailer leaves your interior surfaces looking natural and revitalized. Simply spray on, spread evenly with an Ultra Plush Super Terry or Supreme Shine Microfiber and turn to a dry section of the towel for the final wipe off. "

Available at most auto parts chains. (I hear that 303 does well too, but I couldn't find it locally.) Works well on the waffle and smoth surfaces on the dash. (I didn't use it on the plastic gage lenses).

Love Meg's QID. Perfect for those routine interior dash cleanups. A nice fine mist, no residue and a good smell to boot.

I've been in touch with them, looking for a satin interior detailing product for my ebony vinyl. From their response, it is my understanding that while the QID cleans, smells nice and leave a nice satin finish, it does not provide any long term UV protection. For improved protection, they recommended I use their professional 4000 series (M4001 or M4016) Vinyl & Rubber Conditioner / Cleaner. Several members of their user forum concurred.

Shoppit,

Thank for the clarification!! The QID bottle says "cleans and protects", but there is no mention of that protection being UV protection. I'll use the rest of my QID to clean the backside of the floor mats, "where the sun don't shine" Thanks again.

You're welcome. I just bought an 06 RL, trading in a 92 Legend. I realized that everything I thought I knew about detailing was over 10 years old, so I spent a lot of time combing the net. From all I read, I concluded that Meguiars products were a good compromise of quality, price and ease of use. The have a lot of products, both retail and professional, and it's not always clear what differentiates them. I spent a few days searching the archives and posting questions to Meguiars and the User Forum, then compiled the list of products I thought appropriate for interior and exterior detailing. I bought some NxtGen Tech Wax at Target for $12.99 (great deal) just to get some wax down for now, and mail ordered the rest of my list from Auto Detailing Solutions, which I'm still waiting to arrive.

While I usually apply 303 protectant anyway, you do realize that all the glass in your car blocks UV rays? Its not imperative to apply a protactant, but it sure dosent hurt either.
