I just recently used NXT for the first time as well. I'm also interested in an anwer to your question. Although I only plan to re-apply the wax about every 4-5 months with regular booster wax sprays in-between.

I posted this earlier:

I just put two coats of NXT and this was the result. And yes, it lasts. All I did was wash the car and applied the wax. No need to do some much work as the Zanio.

~One mans opinion / observations~

NXT Tech Wax- it contain a cleaner so in theory it cannot be layered, and it not a very durable product.

Having said that many detailer say that they have successfully layered it and some say it lasts and some that it doesn’t.

Obvious answer is to try it and see, this I will say it does not provide the durability of Zanio which is generally rated as the #1 polymer product

~Hope this helps~

I just applied my second coat of NXT in about a month's time (prepping for winter). It may be my imagination, but I swear the second coat makes a HUGE difference vs. just the one. The color is richer, the shine deeper and the car feels smoother. (Or it may just be the fumes from my wheel cleaner .... )

Your personal observations are whats important. As TOGWT said, NXT has a small amt of cleaners, so in reality, it may not be layerable, but if you cherrish the results after a second application, thats what matters....

would there be a need to let the first coat harden or set before doing the second coat?

What about using the NXT Spray Detailer OVER the layer of wax? How might that turn out?

well i think the spray wax is just a booster type thing - won't really make the finish/color depth better, just keeps it looking good between waxes

someone correct me if i'm wrong

i just put a second coat on one side of my hood....couldn't notice any significant difference in the 2 sides, but the car was in the garage
when i go out today, i'll check again, see if it looks better in the sun

i used NXT in the beginning of the summer and it provided a nice shine, but it does not last. about a month in the wax was beginning to fade. this could have been due to all this rain we got this year but its not as durable as i expected a polymer based wax to be. if you are concerned with the winter conditions my advice is to try a sealant. Check out Klasse AIO and SG combo. it lasts along time and will probably survive the winter as where the NXT would probably not.
