Meguiars #6 questions
Hello,
I ended up taking my car to a local car wash today and had it professionally detailed. Anyway's, I noticed that they used Meguiars #6. It definitely removed my minor swirls, and the paint reflectiveness is great! Anyway's, I was wondering how durable this stuff is? Will this protect my paint (Illinois area) for a good 5-6 months? Any thoughts would be great.
Thanks much,
Jeff

5-6 weeks if your lucky! Its an all in one type of product, with slight fillers (nuba). Good for maintenance needs, but useless for swirl elimination or true protection. You may get 4 washes out of it before its entirely gone. You'll also notice a huge difference in slickness after the first wash.....
You should have come talked to us first!!
However, if you have noticed your swirls eliminated, this is probably due to pad dependancy. Stay atop with a good nuba or synthetic regemine....

What would be the most DURABLE wax/polish that I could use? I don't care how reflective it is, I just want it to hold up throughout the duration of the winter season.. any ideas?

Patrick,
I have some Fourstar. I will apply some of that.
Also, I have a question regarding touch-up paint. About a week ago, I noticed a little nick on my roof. I took some rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and cleaned the area. I then took a toothpick and dabbed some factory honda/acura touch-up paint into the nick. It looked good. However, tonight I noticed the white mark again. Either the Meguiars #6 took the touch-up paint off, OR I didn't apply it right. Any idea what I did wrong? Also, how deep does a nick have to be to start rusting?
Thanks much.
