Keeping a Crystal Black Pearl car clean

Hi All,

So I've recently just picked up a 2010 TSX that's black. I used the California Car Duster and now I see light scratches/swirls. Was this because I havn't waxed the car or is this just a bad product for a black car?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

CBP with a CCD is a recipe for disaster if you ask me..............Waxes or sealants help the CCD slide easier, but its the process of lifting and dragging that has me worried. The CCD is a Paraffin impreganted, cotton mophead which you lightly sweep the dusted surface with. Most people who buy this get lazy and start using it in excess or in lieu of washing, and this is where the paint really suffers.
SweetJazz has a tutorial on proper use of a CCD thats about as good as they come. I would look it up for you but Im on my way to work!

Awesome man. Thanks for the response. I found the article from SweetJazz and will try it this week.

I feel like such an idiot for not reading the instructions about properly airing out the CCD.

I'm glad you found the article. I would also note that I would never use a duster on a paint surface that has not been polished and waxed. A rough paint surface will most likely render the duster useless or even harmful.

That should almost be a warning on the CCD when you buy it

" We at CCD recommend that you have your car polished and waxed to receive the best results possible."

Something like that, hell its on damn near every other product out there you buy that will touch the car..lol.
