just got back from strauss auto...

after the last buying disaster (see this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/wash-wax-23/please-critique-%24100-worth-products-my-friend-just-bought-us-397234/), i exchanged most of the stuff and got the following:

Megs NXT Car Wash
Megs NXT Tech Wax 2.0
Lexol Leather Cleaner
Lexol Leather Conditioner

Is the NXT Car Wash OK? I was looking for Gold Class, but they didn't have any.

Anyhow, since my car is only 4 weeks old, I know i'm good with just the wash and wax. I'll clay and/or polish the next time I detail.

So, what else do you guys recommend? Should I get some 303 for the dash/door trim/etc?

Do I need both Lexol products?

As long as its a name brand wash product, you should be ok. You probably couldnt tell the difference between the two. The biggest difference with wash soaps is there rinse. Whats it actually look like "after" your done. Did it spot, or leave a film? Did it add anything to the sheeting or beading, or remove anything. At under $10.00 a pint, experiment a little until you find one you enjoy working with.

Oh, 303 is great for the interior.
Lexol is a little heavy for my liking considering a dampened MF is usually suitable on a weekly basis. Leather seats are already "sealed" at the factory, so light protection is really all that is needed.

anything else i should order?

are you pretty much saying I can return the lexol stuff?

what would you recommend for the leather cleaner...lets say the seats are just nasty, and not for regular maintenance

If its something nasty...........I would still go with a real warm water wrung out MF 1st. Otherwise the cleaner is going to break down the dirt and grind it in even further. So wipe away as much dirt as you can first, then deep clean with the cleaner, (Four Star, or Duragloss, then protect with Surf City Voodoo, Four Star, Duragloss or 303).
Its kind of like bathing your own skin, you wouldnt dare use soap on dirty skin without rinsing off the dirt first would ya?
I mean i get in, rinse, then lather up, then protect, right?

Not sure about the DG; I havent heard anyone raving about it. Some people like Surf City product. Patrick can chime in. I was going to buy this: Surf City, but I still have 2 bottle of IG. Last time when the Meguiar UQD was on sale, I didnt pick it up. I pick this up: Optimum Instant Detailer , once again, I havent used it yet.
