JMK Detailing: look at these swirlzzz!

HOLY CRAP! I detailed a black Highlander today and when I spoke to the owner over the phone, she told me there were some scratches in the paint.

This is what I had to deal with when I got there:

Look at the BROWN bird poop!

Lordy.. cut dem nails!

Make it stop!!

So we already agreed on a price based on her description... so I wasn't going to do a full correction.

On my test panel, I hit it with M105 / LC orange twice with medium pressure and many passes. This is what I got:

Didn't do this on the rest of the car if they owner wasn't gonna pay me for the extra steps / time.

After LSP (Zaino Z5):

I gotta remember to take more "after" pictures next time. The sun wasn't cooperating with me and by the end of this detail, I was exhausted and just wanted to go home.

Jason, the Zaino products work well with a buffer then?

jmkiang 05-18-2009 12:28 PM

I apply Z2 / Z5 by hand... I've tried it with a LC gray but it ends up soaking in a lot of the product. Using the applicator from Zaino and some Z6 as a spritzer in the shade works great for thin layers.

Hey Jason!

Nice work!

Second of all, are you mobile? If so, do you make your way up north to Antioch?

jmkiang 05-18-2009 01:38 PM

^ thanks. You're about an hour away... I just did a job on the south side and that was about an hour drive so I don't see why not. I'd tack on a little extra for my gas etc though.

Email me at my "work" email if you're interested. :D

Nice Recovery!

jmkiang 05-18-2009 10:59 PM

Thanks.

Seriously though... that car was pretty f'd up!

Rhlieu 05-19-2009 12:19 PM

Wow! Looking good Jason. With each new thread, i see a huge improvement (or maybe that first TL wasn't really that bad after all?)

jmkiang 05-19-2009 12:52 PM

^ Nah the paint didn't have many swirls... it was just a little dull.

wakipaki 05-19-2009 02:55 PM

Just out of curiosity, how much did you charge for that job (if you don't mind sharing)?

jmkiang 05-19-2009 09:23 PM

Oh crap I moved the pictures.. daaaaaaaaaamn

Anyway, here's an after of the door handles (only 2 days after the detail... so much dust!)

Yeah I wish I still had some of those rides, those are just the few Hondas I've owned over the course of about 11 years, thought I represent the Honda badge ya know?
