Interior Protection

Interior Protection
I purchased My TL about thirty days ago. The Dealer offered an interior protection
package that was advertised to proctect all interior surfaces from spills and stains.
I declined because of the price. I have been searching the net and can't seem to
find products that offer the same protection for leather, vinyl and carpet as the
dealer said theirs would. The product name was "The Protector". Does anyone
know of a do-it-yourself treatment or products that offers the same level of
protection as the dealers offer

I don't know of any product for leather that will protect from spills and stains. Best you can do is clean and condition the leather, wipe any spill immediately and try to minimize any possible damage by cleaning the seats ASAP. There are a number of products available for maintaining leather. A diluted mixture of Woolite and water (5:1 - 10:1) works well for cleaning and follow up with a conditioner. Check some of the online detailing sites ... some of the popular brand names are Lexol, Poorboys, Zaino, Conolly, Megs, etc.
For your dash and panels, I would say 303 as previously mentioned mainly because of it's UV capabilities. Wipe/clean those areas with a moist MF towel, let dry and follow with the 303. You can also use the Woolite mixture for cleaning, making sure you wipe it down with a moist MF towel prior to applying protectant.
For your carpets, Scotchgard Automotive Fabric & Upholstery Protector, 303 Fabric Guard or DCS19 Fabric Protectant.

Thanks
Thanks folks. I think I'll try the scotch gaurd for My carpet, and the 303 for the
dash etc... I've already conditioned the leather with Maguiars Gold Class.
Thanks again for the prompt feedback.

Guys, I got the 303 and have questions. Is $14 a bad price or is it available elsewhere beside the RV store? I used it successfully on the dash on our black interior but on the side door panels it acts all smeary and spotty. Aren't half of the door panels leather? and if so 303 isn't right for them. You know the look I describe, it is like oil splattered off of engine fill onto ,lets say, and engine cover. I never had this problem as much with Vinyl X or other plastic protection. Thanks in advance! QR
