Inspired by Todd's TL Detail? Here's what you'll need!

I was extremely impressed and motivated by Todd's complete TL detail writeup as I am sure many of you have been as well. In all of the research I have done over the years to figure out how to REALLY detail a car I have learned a lot but have also been overwhelmed. I have always taken pretty good care of my cars but wanted to take it to a whole new level. Reading Todd's TL writeup as well as many of his other articles on www.detailedimage.com really helped me to finally bite the bullet and place some orders. Over the last 2 weeks here is everything I have ordered. I hope everything comes in over the next 2 weeks so I can do a complete detail in the next 2-3 weeks. Once I do my detail, ill be posting my own writeup with pictures on the forums.

I have seen a lot of people ask for a complete TL detailing package from www.detailedimage.com or just ask what items they would need so I figured I would post an itemized list of everything I have ordered and everything I have on hand which I plan to use. I was looking for a 4 - 5 hour detail job so I chose to use somewhat of a 1 step polish. Later down the road as I need more severe correction and I am ready to invest a few more bucks into several other polish/pad combo's ill order what I need and add it to the arsenal.

If you are REALLY interested in getting everything you need to detail your car or even if you just want to pick up a few things, NOW is the time! www.detailedimage.com is having their 25 % off sale which ends tomorrow on the 23rd. I placed my order today and brought my order down from just over $600 to $497! (Yea, the wife is going to kill me..... until I detail her Expedition!)

Thanks again to Todd for answering all of my emails and phone calls so far! There will certainly be several more as I start getting knee deep into the detail in the coming weeks, lol!

Originally I had a couple "packages" added to my cart, but with the 25 % off, it was cheaper to add them a-la-cart. If you are not able to make a purchase by the 23rd to get the 25% off, the Pro Kits Pre-Polish Basic Kit and Pro Kits Esoteric Wheel Care hav several of these items already in them to save you a few bucks.

Here is the list of products I purchased from www.detailedimage.com and the prices before the 25 % off:

Blackfire Wet Diamond with Polycharger - 16 oz $29.99

Here are the items I either already had or purchased elsewhere:

Gilmour's Foam Gun - $36 Amazon
3 Wash Buckets - $2 each
Stoners Window Cleaning Wand - $15
Stoners Invisible Glass - Aerosol and Spray - $4 or $5 each
Wheel Brush - $4-$5
Lugnut Brush - $3
Interior Detailing Brushes - $5-$6
Microfiber Towels - $16 or $17 for 36 from Costco
Sheepskin Wash Mits - $25 for 4 from Costco
Waffleweave Towels - $32 for 5 from Costco
3m Blue Painters Tape - $4 or $5 a roll

I would also suggest a roll around seat so you can sit down while you polish and move around the car, some storage bins to keep your products dust free and a pop up tent/canopy to provide shade while washing if you dont have a a shady area to wash in.

If you want to do a multi-step correction instead of using a 1 step option like Optimum Poli-Seal I would recommend reading through Todd's article and go with his recommendations.

There may be a couple other items I forgot about so if I remember anything else ill post it here. Keep an eye out for my TL writeup in 3 or 4 weeks. In the meantime if you havent already read Todd's TL writeup I highly recommend you do so!
