how long lexol sits
I have an 03 CL-P (non perforated leather) - black leather
So i went to pep boys and bought some lexol cleaner and conditioner (2 bottles). It is the spray kind , is there a paste kind too? If so is the spray kind any better or worse than the paste kind?
So i've heard of people apply the stuff onto the leather and letting it sit for a long time (couple hours).
Now how long am i suppose to let the cleaner sit for and how long do i let the conditioner sit for?
I am thinking that it should only be for a few minutes. Could anyone help?

Here is what I do with my lexol setup:
I use the cleaner only if it is needed. If it has been a while since you cleaned the leather, and if it looks dirty, then use it.
I usually let it sit until the foam goes away, then I wipe it down with a damp towel.
Then I use the conditioner and I let that sit for a while, it depends on how much you have used. I don't bother wiping after I condition it. I just let it sit until it is all dryed out.

I have the spray bottle, and I usually let it sit about 20-30 mins or so. It makes my black leather seats a little sticky and greasy so I don't think I'm going to use it once my bottle runs out. Anything else that is better for black leather?

there are some spots on my leather that look all wrinkled up and dried up. After using the cleaner and conditioner, would it smooth it out?

I think you should let it sit, but not until it is totally dry as that would make it sticky. Once it is almost dry, wipe the excess off with a clean cotton cloth. What you want the conditioner to do is to seep into the leather, not stay on the surface as a protectant.

My Leather system:
1 part water 10 parts woolite as a cleaner, spray on wipe off and cleans them fine (black leather)
Conditioner: Liquid Glass makes a product called Connoisseur's Choice which has mink oil in it. Follow the directions on the bottle, (yes guys, it is good to read the instructions sometimes) and you will have good results.

Be careful with Lexol
Some real leather experts, at Leatherz.com. who make a lot of leather products for BMW's have tried all the leather products and said that Lexol will eventually make the leather sticky permanently and ruin it. They only recommend a product called Spinneybeck, believe it comes from the U.K. I will look at my bottles of it and advise. It really works good and has no long-term ill affect on leather. Good luck with your project! DanF

Also, my seats feel sticky for a couple of days after putting on lexol. Very hard to get off.

I typically use water and a rag to remove the cleaner about after 10 minutes. Then apply the conditioner for about 5 minutes and work it in the leather. Works great for me. Then I do the perforated sections with 303 for UV protection.

I recenly bought a bottle of Lexol conditioner and cleaner. I gotta say, I dont like this stuff at all. Seems to make the seats "sticky", not that impressed.
I'll stick with Zaino's cleaner and conditioner...
