How do I fix my leather seat?

Hello,

I know that Acura's leather isn't the best quality, but I noticed tonight that by one of the perforated holes, I have a little piece of the leather cover starting to peal up. Anyway, I'm not sure if something on my pants, or something a technician had in his pocket at the dealership caught the leather. However, what do I do about this? Can this be fixed? Will the whole seating surface area start to peel now?

Lastly, I have an 07 TSX with 21k miles. Would Acura possibly replace this under factory warranty? If not, what would I be looking at for a new seat cover? Is the top seat cover seperate from the bottom one?

Thanks much!

Jeff

not looking so hot @50k miles sounds like normal wear...no their problem

mine were flat out worn and peeled @ about 12k miles...their problem. but its worth a shot.

my 05 TL's seats look like crap! They replaced the bottom skin on the drivers side around 35k but now they are worn thru again (the little holes have all smeared into one smooth place on the seat). I usually wear suit pants (jeans once in awhile but they should hold up to jeans) and put my phone and wallet in the front pockets or in the cup holders thinking that was the problem. The seats are cleaned and conditioned monthly with lexol or leather therapy and they still look bad. Oh, they are regularly vacuumed as well.

Not much you can do besides complain

Therein lies your problem. Thats over conditioning, and totally unnecessary. I guarantee you would have better results with a monthly damp MF wipedown, and every other month conditioning.
