Help! Zaino Z-6 spray streaking HORRIBLY on BDP TL!

I've used Zaino products faithfully on my e90 3 Series BMW for the past two years, and wanted to start off on the right foot with our pre-loved 2005 TL. Everything went great (washed, Z-AIO, followed by Z-5, the Z-6) until we applied the Z-6...even used in small amounts with the spray bottle in one hand quickly followed by a whipe down with the towel in my other hand, that the Z-6 was streaking BADLY.

I've done some searches, and suspect the humidity was a factor (very high yesterday). Work was done in the garage.

Any known issues with using Z-6 on black diamond pearl paint?

i've had Z8 streak on my 05 anthracite TL...but never Z6. zaino is indeed touchy with humidity (most products are, IMO). using too much product will also do it.

a few other things to avoid:

--contaminated microfiber towels (other products used on the towel may be what is streaking)

--direct sun...the hot sun may dry the product up as you wipe it down and cause the mess

do you guys spray on the paint or towel? Do you shake the bottle before applying? Also AIO should not be used before putting on z-5 and z-6 as iot will not bond as well.

It's always worked quite well with my Titanium Silver 330i - I just wondered if other BDP TL owners experienced this issue.

Wow...you're the first person I've seen to ever indicate that Z-AIO wasn't an EXCELLENT first step before applying the other Zaino products. Can you elaborate?

I used AIO on my friends car when zainoing his car, figuring it would save some time. Well I put on about 4 applications of both z2 and z5 and inbetween z6. Well after 3 months, the wax was all gone, zero protection. I figureed that would be odd because my TL has had zaino on for almost a year and it still has some protection, and I put on the same amount, but used z-7 and a claybar.

Any speculation as to why this might have happened?

I just purchased a zaino kit and used the Z6 spray with no problem.
I have read that if you apply it to a hot surface it may streak also im not sure if it is the Z6 or Z8 but it says if this happens you can mix it with distilled water a ratio of 1 to 1 it says it will be more user friendly.

From Zainos web page ..

Excellent base coat setup for optional Z-2 PRO or Z-5 PRO application

If you didn't have bonding and can't control how the car was cleaned after application it could have been other factors.

I too have an 05 Anthracite, but NEVER had any streaking with Z-8 or Z-6.

USE LESS PRODUCT. That's the key to the Zaino system. You can water it down, that can help, and also away from direct sunlight.

Try using a Micro fiber towel. I get mine at Pakshak.com

Very plushy and it absorbs very well, and that can help reduce the streaking.
