Help me choose a better tire dressing

Don't like the high gloss Black Magic stuff I have. Looking for something not quite matte, but not too blingy either. I've been reading good things about DP Gloss Gel and Optimum Opti Bond. Is one shinier than the other? Which lasts longer?

Thanks for any input!

I use 303 Aerospace Protectant or Optimum Opti Bond because I have never been a fan of shiny/glossy looking tires. A nice satin look is best IMO.

ANX, I was looking for a tire dressing that makes my car's tires look the same way they do when they are done at the dealership.

I've have tried quite a few dressings-even the Black Magic stuff you mentioned. I keep going back to Meguiar's Endurance Gel. It's purple in color, doesn't spray all over your car and seems to last a while.

I use Meguiar's Endurance Gel as well and love the stuff. It goes on nicely and provides a nice finish. If you want more shine you simply apply a second coat, if not just go for one coat. I also don't find it all over my paint and it lasts a while. All of the pictures I've posted on these forums and the ones in my profile show my tires with Megs on them.

Megs Endurance.

It's grape flavored.

Thanks guys, maybe I'll try the Meg's. Probably cheaper than the ones I listed too! So it's not as glossy as this stuff?

What do those car wash places usually use?

They don't use the spray types, it's more like white gel stuff. I like the finishes that it gives..

i think more than the tire shine u use, the prep work of the tire is what makes it shine like it does from the dealer ... u need to scrub off all the brake dust from the tires, so the tire shine will adhere better

+1, scrub the tires and almost any dressing will look nice

I like Tuff Shine though, one of the vendors on here sells it. It bonds and dries to the tire and can either look shiny or satin depending on how much you apply. And when I say it bonds to the tire you can actually run your finger across the tire with no residue.

Mother's Back to Black. It makes the tires look new and not ghetto glossy.

I usually use the Megs Endurance in the aeresol can. Some does seem to fly off but it isn't bad. Lasts longer than the NxT Generation tire shine I've been trying to use up lately.

I really like the Blackfire dressing, dry to the touch and last about a month.

This is the DP dressing.

I like the Meguiars gel stuff. I wipe it on with a sponge and let it sit overnight, unless I plan on driving it in the next 6 hours, in which case I'd wipe off the excess with a clean dry cloth. The tires usually stay shiny (not too shiny though, thats why I usually wipe them down afterwards) for a few weeks, even through rain.
