I've seen a bunch of questions raised about washing your 04/05 TL's during the winter months up here in the NE. For those folks here on LI or Queens Vicinity there is a place I have began to use that hand washes and pays close attention to the details.

It seems as if one of the major concerns from foks with car washes are that the car wash track scratches rim and the bushes may have particles of dirt which will scratch the car.

I did some homework to find a solution this winter and found a place on Long Island that hand washes and looks like a solution for the winter months.

I sent an email into them regarding the low rims and if they would get scrated from the track.

Hi Chris,
Our track is protected with a plastic tube that is designed to accomadate low profile rims. We have never had a problem with a scratched rim and we wash a lot of Acura TL's.
A rim such as the Acura's can only get damaged in a car wash if this protective tube is not in place. This is more common in older type car washes or a car wash that has not been updated in a few years. Thanks for the inquiry. Paul

Our shop on Long Island does hand washes without tracks. We wash cars indoors during the winters.
