Final update to this thread!
I ordered this clock about a week ago but in between Minneapolis and Portland, FedEx lost it so it was a day late getting here. Better late than never, though... It's a LaCrosse Technology atomic clock that adjusts itself to the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder, Colorado. It contains a hygrometer (humidity) and thermometer which is awesome, too. Plus I like that it matches the decor and gives the wall behind the work bench a focal point.

Wow that's a gorgeous garage! I bet you guys feel proud doing everything yourself. If you think your garage in beginning was bad, I should post a picture of my garage. It's gross. I'm surprised my dad and I can fit our cars in there

Three Wheelin'
I went today to pick up the same cabinets as you have and you weren't kidding about the weight.... I went real quick with my mom while wife was taking care of our daughter... So I got a bit of a workout. Most of it was ok except the big cabinet ouff. Plus fitting that in my moms ML was a bit tricky, better than my TL though... I'll probably look into putting them up next weekend. I really look forward to it!! Watching pictures of your garage makes me want to start working immediatly but I'm so swamped.
btw your lights look very sweet, that's a project I'll tackle later on

Amazing to believe folks but it has already been a year since the completion of this project! To celebrate the first anniversary of inadvertently making my neighbors jealous, I cleaned up the garage big time today. The floor got a scrubbing even though it didn't need it and even the baseboards got a wipe down. Here are a few pictures to show you how things are holding up.
All in all it still cleans up like it looked on day one.
The back wall has accumulated some more stuff in the past 365 days; among them another traffic light , the lawn mower, garbage can and a storage bag for the deck furniture cushions.
The floor is holding up nicely.
It took a little getting used to with the T8 lights. You can't turn them on and off like incandescent bulbs and because of that, several bulbs and even one ballast sacrificed themselves. I've picked up on it now and they only come on when I'll be there for a while (at least an hour).
Clock still ticking.
Cars in the garage....
My signal collection and the Honda mower, all of them kept just as clean as the cars.

Not sure but my dad's side of the family has a long history of obscure interests so it probably stems from that. I've liked them for as long as I can remember. I wanted the one on the right from the age of 4 and didn't wind up getting it until I was 16. Better late than never.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Very nice. I need to do mine. Mine just seems very drab. Not to mention it has enough spiders to give Jefford an aneurysm

Thanks for the compliments, everybody!!
Actually neither of those signals were ever used in official road service. I actually was the one to take the black one out of the original box.

Me thinks the RL deserves the single stall.
Great looking garage. My dad wants me to clean up our garage...it's a four stall, ~900sq foot monster with 16 foot ceilings I believe. Wish me luck.

It did when it was brand-new but people were walking by it all the time going in and out of the house. Due to its length and a freezer we had in the cabinet space, people were always grazing it so the area around the 'ACURA' on the trunk was scratched within 2 or 3 days of purchase. We moved it as far away from regular foot traffic as possible and that is where it has stayed ever since.
Thanks!
Thanks!

garage looks great so far, keep up good work and it will pay off
nah i think its other way around. going garage shopping and if nice house comes with it then it will be selling point. some neighborhoods i drive through have 4-5 garage doors in each house, not sure what they keep in there but then again its 1-2 mil houses

I've got a great relationship with my parents but as soon as I get my career going and get some money saved up, I'll start shopping for my own place.

Update!
It will be four years this summer since this epic project took place but age and settling of the concrete garage floor have since lead to cracks which have been allowing water to seep into the basement underneath the garage. As a result, the cracks had to be filled and the rubberized filler looks nothing like the epoxy so the look is permanently ruined. A garage 'refresh' is planned for the late spring or early summer.
Stay tuned.

Never seen this thread as I joined Feb 2012 but I just looked at all the pics from Page 1 and all I can say is wow!!
The garage looks amazing, huge amount of space and very organized, I love it!
A garage is a must when I buy a house.
Can't wait to see what you have planned for this year.

Well seven years and one persistent leak into the storage room later and the garage has a new floor coating. The floor people showed up at around 8 this morning and worked until 5, due to come back tomorrow morning to finish up. The first two photos are of the old floor during the clearout and the final is as it sits right now.
Stay tuned.
