Front grille, 3G TL plastic trim - protectant?

Any ideas about what to use on the plastic trim on the front grille of a 3G TL to protect it from salt, grit etc? Usually that kind of matte finish plastic does'nt take well to wax, and I don't want to ruin it.

If your talking about the center bar in the grill with the "A" in it I tape mine over with electrical tape for the winter .. no chips .. issues in 2 winters now.

Thanks Jesstzn! I just might try the tape trick, but I still want to put something on the grey plastic grille to protect it. Wax seems like it'll muck it up, (sealant might attack the plastic??)
