Duragloss Aquawax

I applied some Duragloss Aquawax yesterday over the 2 week old layer of NXT currently on the Royal Blue Pearl TL and noticed it temporarily darkened the car to a dark blue for 10 minutes or so after buffing.

Also tried some on a Carbon Pearl TSX but no quirky effect.

Does anyone know why this happened to the TL ?

dannyboy10,

I am not quite following you. Did the paint darken and then lighten back up after 10 minutes? Did you see streaking after buffing off? What is the issue? The NXT and Aquawax may not be compatible for layering.

I used the Aquawax after I noticed the NXT was already starting to wear off during the hand wash. My car faces the elements 24/7. There was not enough time for me to try the Four Star UPP.

I noticed after wiping off the Aquawax that the Royal Blue Pearl had darkened in color for 5-10 minutes and then lightened up back to normal. It was weird and 2 other people noticed this shift.

Just curious as to why this occurred on the TL. There was no streaking. If I have time this weekend, I will wash the car again, apply Aquawax and borrow a digital camera to take a couple pictures before and after.

Very interesting. I have never see that before. If you can capture the pics it would be interesting to see.

I will try this weekend. Not sure if I can replicate it since I already have a layer of Aquawax now on top of the NXT.

I shook it a few times. Maybe not enough.

Not sure if I will have time this weekend to try again. I will post here after I try it again.

AquaWax is a hyper wax, containing both Nuba and polymers. So there is some settling. It needs to be mixed during the application.
