Duragloss #105 cleaning power
Hi guys,
Not sure if you can help me out or not with this, but I tried fixing an isolated scratch with Meguiars Scratch X 2.0. Anyway, I removed most of the scratch, however, in the process, it appears that I created a hologram around the area that I used the Scratch X on.
Anyway, I then put a coat of Duragloss #105 on the car, and that hologram is totally gone. The paint looks pretty flawless (dark blue metallic). Did the DG 105 "clean" the remaining Scratch X2.0 off the car that I obviously didn't work properly into the paint? I don't have a porter cable, so I had to resort by hand trying to remove that scratch.
I guess bottom line is DG 105 powerful enough (cleaning wise) to remove stuff like Megs Scratch X2.0?
Thanks much!

ScratchX isn't left on .. the hologram is marring from the abrasives in the 2.0. The #105 has little to none abrasives to remove the hologram but it will mute the hazing a bit. And as with any liquid the carrier can remove residue from polishes but not the way to go.
If you want to remove the hologram do this ;
1) Wipe the area with IPA
2) use a very soft M/F cloth and the 2.0 and wipe/rub it in a back & forth motion across the area
3) IPA wipe to see results
4) Repeat step 2 as needed
5) Apply #105.
