Detailing - Can I just do this?

I ordered some Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection polish stuff from Patrick at Excel Detail. Can I just wash and dry my car, put some of that stuff on the DA's pad and go to work? Or, do I need to put something over it to protect the paint? I guess my main question is, will this clean, polish, and protect the paint? Also, if I wanted to, could I use Z-aino (all in one) and then put a coat of the Fourstar on top of that?

Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection polish stuff ?
If you ordered FS UPP, thats the sealant. Not an All In one. You could apply it over the surface. But Im thinking thats not why you bought it. You really need to clean that paint up first, even if the car is new. As you never know what sort of prep the dealer really did. So, at a minimum, clean the paint. The Zaino (I think) will clean it up a little, then you could apply the UPP.

From what I know about Z-AIO, it has mild abrasives as well as protection capabilities. Basically a one step product and you can top with a sealant, for example Z-2 or UPP. As Excel pointed out, you don't know what was previously applied. I like to start with a clean base by removing any previous application. I would clay (fine grade), then polish or in your case, Z-AIO and the LSP of your choice.

Man, someone is confused. First off, dont put UPP on top of Zaino. It wont bond since their both polymers.

If all you have is a bottle of UPP, then just get a clay kit and do that at the very least. You should probably use a polish first, but this should be fine for now...

Too late

BUT, I used the UPP about 2 months ago after an OPT polishing and its holding up quite nicely. Love the stuff!
