Detailed 03 IS300

So today I detailed my buddies IS300. The car was a bit dirty after camping. Some minor swirls from car washes from the stealership and needed to prep for winter! I forgot to take before pictures but the after was amazing! Saved the best picture for last.

I'm in the works of finishing up on using OTC products so....

Megs NXT wash
3m compound (fine)
DG 105
DG 111
Megs NXT Wax

Compounding took the longest amount of time and killed my arms, but it took out all the fine scratches. After buffing off DG 105, it mad a hell of a differance. Sealing it with DG 111 took no time at all and then finally a nice coat of wax to top off the "wet" look.

The 3M compound is a bitch to remove! But it does work very well.

hopefully when i'm done with 3m compound and the many more brands I have, 4* body shop will do the trick of less time/energy to remove.

Thanks for the comments!

oh I used LC CCS pads. White, yellow, red. In that order.

I ordered some erasure pads from Patrick and hope that they do the job right! LC pads are just a bit to expensive for me.

^^^

Ok, I'm glad you made that correction before I checked back to this thread - I was about to be very confused why you used a white, then a yellow, since I'm still new to this I recently bought a UDM and I'm still learning.

Actually regarding the LC CCS pad, this is what I have (orange, white and blue). I actually have found for me personally the white foam pad that comes with the UDM is easier for me to use, easier to clean, etc.). I'm thinking about checking out Pat's pads for the Spring since I'm done & ready for the winter now

I think if I took pics in the sunlight the car wouldn't be visable.

It was cloudy and the sun showed up only for a few minutes.
