Dealer paint warranty
I just have to share with your guys. In March 1999 I bought a NBP Prelude. In Sept. '99 (8988 miles) my 16 yo son runs front of car under a pickup. Hood replaced, both headlights, AC compressor, etc. Total damage = $3000. Fast forward to Feb. 2008 and 99,800 miles the clearcoat begins to peal on the hood. Dealer repaints/clearcoats for $0. While there I had some PDR stuff done for 2 C-notes. Car looks great now. A true classic in my mind. Even though dealer has lifetime warranty on their paintwork, they told me 99% of the people trade/sell their cars before paint problems show up. I guess it also helped that we took very well care of the car each and every year.

its Jan 2008, how did you get the clear done in feb 2008, or did you mean 2007? Anyway, its always better to be safe than sorry

Is this dealership specific? What I mean is, was this something your particular dealership offered on the car & did you have to pay for it up front (like a warranty)? Or does Honda / Acura offer lifetime on paint on all vehicles? For some reason I don't think so, I thought it was 7 years / 100,000 miles on rust.
If you didn't have to pay up front, that's one hell of a deal IMO. My old 97 CL started rusting right above the rear wheel well, but I was out of the rust warranty so I didn't even bother pursuing it. A little primer / touch up paint worked for me till I bought my TL.

Whoops, I meant jan 2008. Yes, this was the dealership's body shop that repaired the car in 1999 and their warranty was for lifetime of car as long as you owned the car - not transferable

Oh, I get it now - it was part of the body work (I didn't even pick up on that part). Ok gotcha. Yeah most reputable shops will guarantee their work for life.
