Cquartz Leather Coating

Hey fellow 'ziners, with summer upon us (sort of?), I've been back at cleaning the family cars up. I stumbled on a new product that I'm curious about. Has anyone tried Cquartz leather coating? What are your impression of this product? Is it as easy as they claim to apply? I've been debating getting it for the cars since every car in the household has leather now.

Well the only reason I would buy it would be for my light color leathers...and I think there is a warning about applying to light colored leathers as it might yellow so I passed.

Interesting... I was actually focused on trying it on the 1G RL with tan leather and the Camry which has a beige/taupe interior since they see the harsh winter months ... Did you find a good alternative?

stupid acurazine inputting it's own address before the link...

you can delete the prefix-address and then delete the "quote" at the end of the link to get to the linked link...
or project can edit the link!

Ha...sorry man I didnt want to dissuade you as that was almost a year ago when I did my discovery on this product they may have changed their formula as you would think this would be the golden ticket for folks like us with lighter interiors.

I definitely feel you man, I noticed they mentioned removing some of the wipes due to color rubbing off onto the leather.... I decided to put in an e-mail to them, let's see what they say! They might have changed the formulation...

Yes they moved away from the orange wipes to white or something after I saw all that I said it wasnt fully vetted yet and walked away. I'd be interested in hearing what they say.

So this is their official answer, looks like the wipes are what were causing the yellowing

Thank you for the email! Everything is great over here and I hope things are going well with you. For the Cquartz Leather Coating, CarPro has seen some issues with the orange micro-suede cloths that come with the Leather Coating. These micro-suede cloths could cause some yellowing/discoloration on light leather, so they do not recommend using them when applying the Leather Coating. Instead we recommend using something like these applicators: Gtechniq AP2 Ultra Soft Foam Filled Microfibre Applicator | Free Shipping Available - Detailed Image

CarPro is also working on making some white micro-suede cloths so that you do not have to worry about this issue on lighter colored leathers. If you come across any dark leather, the micro-suede towels included can be used without any issues.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to help. Take care!
