compound or just wax?

So I don't know if i should compound my car or not,it has very little scratches,2-3 more visible wich i can live with. But the rest of the car is perfect, only has those little spider scratches from washing. My question is,should i bother compounding or just do clay bar wax/glaze?

Depending on the severity, I would recommend using a polish instead of the compound. Start with the least abaraisive one first and work your way up. Glazing is a fine polish with minimal cutting power and used for increasing surface gloss. The process would be 1) Wash 2) Clay (as req.) 3) Polish (removal of swirls and surface defects) 4) Seal. Are you doing this by hand or using a buffer (PC)?

Definetly a polish like Optimum with a polishing pad should take car of the "swirls" and possibly make those scratches less visible (depending how deep the scratch is). Another of my favorites are these. You didn't mention what you're using, but anything with a light cut should solve your problem.

Basically, yes. Sealants are made from polymers and provide longevity and durability while carnuba is a natural wax. Polymers are advertised to last anywhere from 4-6 months while a carnuba will last anywhere from 4-6 weeks. They both have one purpose and that is to protect your painted surface from the elements.
