Clear residue on new car, what now?

Just washed my new car for the first time last weekend. While going over the exterior in great detail I noticed small spots of clear residue on a few areas of my TSX. The spots varied from the size of the edge of a quarter to as big as 1/2x2 in. There is a total of about 6 places thoughout the finish. The material is clear, not really hard, but harder than gummy. I don't think its imperfections in the clear coat. It may be residue from the plastic coating that come on brand new cars when shipped. Anyway, one spot came off when I rubbed really hard with a soapy cotton washcloth but I needed to help it along with my fingernail. I realized that this was probably not the best way to get this stuff off so I didn't touch the other spots. I also didn't want to wax over the residue. Any ideas? What's the best way to get this stuff off? What is it? Have any of you come across the same problem?

I would contact your acura dealer, they should agree to have the car detailed again. It sounds like they didn't do a good job at getting all of the shipping coat of wax/plastic off.
