I recommend anything Meguiars. My dad has a detail business. Make sure its streak free (most are anymore). Also make sure it doesnt have Ammonia in it, as it will mess up your tint.

Well like most things car related you can get lots of different answers. I have used a few different kinds of glass cleaners. Not that much difference from the 1s I've used other than some clean a lil better & some made my windows stick a lil (too dry). So id say try a couple, see which 1 u like best & use that 1. The main thing is don't use too much of it on them or clean them too often & ur tint should be fine.

& there's this to...

Yea, I googled it too but I also wanted to hear "expert" opinions. Thanks guys, I'll make sure not to use anything with ammonia in it.

Thank you for asking this question OP. Just the other day I drove my friends and myself out to eat and they thought it would be cool to leave me notes by drawing things on my back seat windows. I was scared to clean it with windex because I didn't want to mess the tint up. Your question answered my worries thanks.

I've tried many...but Stoner's Invisible glass posted by predatorbird is my favorite too.

I just use Windex and some paper towels

i believe windex as ammonia in it, thus might harm the film of the tint.. as i also use stoners invisible glass on my tint without any problems

I actually used stoner invisible glass for my windshield and it's PERFECT. Hesitated a bit to use it on my tint but I will from now on. Thanks!

sapanpatel123 01-03-2013 09:51 PM

Use anything that's ammonia-free.

I would just mix some distilled water and rubbing alcohol. I know if it's dyed tint and not metallic ammonia is a big no no, it'll turn purple in no time. Stoner's says safe for tinted windows but I still only use it on the outside, makes me nervous on my tint.

I use this. I get a 4 pack at SAMs club for like 12 bucks. It's streakless, and ammonia free. I used to use Invisible Glass, but I've switched. This is cheaper and smells better too (not that it matters)

That is the best and most user-friendly glass cleaner I have ever used. Also, those towels are by far, the best glass towels I have used. If you try these out, you will thank me.

I bought a can of Invisible glass today and all I can say is wow. My windows are all super clear and it didn't leave any streaks.

I stand corrected, it was $8.38 for a pack of 4. (prices may vary by location )

Windows + window tint = eventual purple bubbly tint.

I just use water + dense microfiber cloth. You really don't even need the water, as you can buff out any kind of mark, really, with just the cloth, in circular motions.

do they sell these towels anywhere else? i've heard good things about them but won't pay $13 to ship 2-3 detailing towels (doubling the total price)

RaviNJCLs 01-07-2013 12:43 PM

I think I use a Rain-X ammonia free cleaner. Works great.

huystAr 01-07-2013 02:19 PM

I use stoners as well. Great stuff!

UA6 01-07-2013 02:37 PM

Stoners...that is all.

Carpro USA sells what looks to be the same kind of towel. Also if you buy a 5 or a 10 pack from them, the price per towel drops significantly. For light weight packages, they ship through US Postal priority for $5, so that's about half of what shipping usually is.
