Clay Question
I gave my car its first cleaning of spring and I used the Zaino claybar for the first time.
I'm wondering if I used the claybar correctly.
I dawned and rinsed.
I followed the directions carefully and lubed with diluted Z7 in a spray bottle. I only did one section at a time (1/2 hood; door; quarter panel...). I rubbed the claybar back and forth with a moderate amount of pressure. My fingers did get a bit tired by the end of the process. I folded the clay over a few times.
Only very occasionally did I feel the clay 'catch' on dirt . There were occasional brown specks that I could see in the yellow clay before I re-folded. The catching only occured on the front and rear bumper and the little area between the front wheel and the door.
I thought that I'd feel and see more crap taken up by the clay. Did I do things correctly and just started out with a pretty clean car, or did I screw something up?

it sounds as if you did it correctly but you mgiht have not gotten enough pressure to the clay bar to make it vey effective. the bumpers contain most of the contaminates but they are layered so light pressure will get off the "first layer". with more pressure(not a lot more, just a tad) you will get to the "deep" layer and the "deep" layer is even with your other panels.

The finish felt smooth so I went ahead and put a coat of Z1/Z5 on. I was planning on putting a few coats of Z5 and Z2 this week if I have the time.
Can I re-clay after putting on a Zaino polish layer?

Yes, you can! But since this will be the second time you've clayed it, don't apply to much pressure on the paint.
