Paint Protection Film (PPF). For $50.00 (+ S/H), you could have protected it before something like that happened. 100% likelihood you wouldn't be reading this post. I know its a little late for you in particular but could be a lesson learned for all reading......Actually, the PPF hides these issues real well, all the while protecting from future breakage and/or damage.
I'd be more then thrilled to order some up for you guys. Maybe a group buy?
If theres any interest, lets get a thread started........You'll never even know its there.

i guess there is no use for me to just apply it to my left headlight now... lol

or is it cool for me to apply the PPF to both lights... even now?

and im still trying to figure out wtf i drove into for that chip... it's like one big chip then a few small chips around it

i guess im lucky there is no crack

Eh it happens from road debris. I know I have a bunch but it doesn't bother me since my car's 8 years old, LoL.

I hope to buy a GT-R for my next car, hehe. I'll be sure to put PPF on those headlights!

It was more then likely from something kicked up on the freeway. If the lenses are still in good shape, PPF would deter further damage, as well as oxidation. The kit includes PPF for both headlights and lower fog/driving lamp lenses.
