Chalky Dust residue from Wax

Just used my Pinnacle wax. It had been sitting around for a while since my last use. For some reason it got solid(it is the liquid wax I was using) Still applied it. However, was very chalky with lots of residue. Used a microfiber to simply wipe off most of the chalk like resideu(although I am sure some is still left on it) Any thoughts on why this happened to the wax? Also any problems with having that on the car?

More then likely it has lost its distillates, they probably evaporated and your left with more of the raw materials, which are now not user friendly. It may be more trouble then good, safe to say, start from scratch.......
