Are you polishing out paint defects?

I guess we are looking for a little more info out of you .. Which "circular" polisher and when you say "apply" polishes it makes us wonder if your meaning wax as you don't "apply" polishes. Polishes are used to correct paint defects such as swirls etc.

Also there is a ton of different random orbitals.

7424xp vs the makita. Is there a difference in the effects of these two machines in the results of polishing to make paint shiny. I have good conditioned paint. I was just wondering wether one has an advantage over the other

Both will do a great job. The 7424 is a lot safer for a noob and the rotary can easily burn the paint and induce holograms.

at the risk of burning the paint, results can be had quicker with a circular machine, and you could probably correct deeper defects with the circular...again, at the risk of doing more damage to the paint then you are starting with...unless you know what your doing ofcourse...

Yes, your last thread left us a bit confused. you never answered what your intentions were.

have you had experience with the maketa????
if so, what results did you get?

but i agree with jesstzn and vinners, the PC7424 will be the easiest to use, and noob proof as well.

Dont go for the makita.....you're setting your self up for failure.

experience+makita=spetacular

not saying that you cant get the same results with the PC, its just that the makita is very hard to use/you need experience or you'll burn paint

and since youve only been detailing for a year or less, i'd stick with the PC.

SInce you're questioning the results of the PC, we need to dig farther and to see why its not performing...

what pads and polishes do you use?

get some Purple Foam wool pads and you would be amazed how much correction you can do with those and XP. you can use that on most paints except for ceramic, it will take much longer with that combo on ceramic clears.
just for flex 3401 and cant wait to try it

The 7424xp will take a little longer to break down the menzerna but it will still leave a great finish. Just make sure the polish looks nearly clear before you finish a each section. I would also at a wipe with 70% alcohol to rid the paint of most of the polishing oils and prep the surface for your favorite protection.
