After claying your car...

Can you just use Polish (ie Klasse AIO) or do you have to wash before you polish?

same after you polish, can you just use a seal or wax?

here's what I plan on doing...

wash car
clay car (Gold clay bar)
wash car
polish (Klasse AIO)
wax/seal (Meg Gold Class...want to use NXT but want to use this up first)

Is that ok? if you have better suggestions let me know...

I'm not a pro, but it would be fine if you were to polish after claying because the polish, especially AIO with its cleaning abilities would remove whatever residue the claying process may have made.

To even save a step, you could also clay as your washing and use the car wash solution as a lube. As far as your last step process goes, with the products you got listed, I would apply a layer of NXT first and then add a layer of Gold Class as a topper. I use #26 on top of NXT on my SSM and it really makes the metallic flakes pop.

Good luck and have fun!

I'd wash it first, just to get any leftover residue off.

Theres really no need to wash, polishing after claying is nearly mandatory, and does not require a post clay wash.....We all know polishing removes contaminants, why would you want to wash what polish will remove ?

It really depends on the "polish" you use. If its AIO, no problem since it has cleaners in it. If your using Zaino, which isnt technically a polish, then you should wash and wipe down with Z6

About a minute, maybe less, then buff it off with a MF polishing towel. Do a section at a time.

AIO doesn't need to sit for long, perhaps a minute or so. If you do a panel at a time, by the time you reach the end of the panel, the first part will be ready to buff.

On the other hand, it's a good idea to let the SG sit for a while, perhaps a few hours or more.

If I buy NXT

Should I put that on before or after I do the Gold Class?

so should it be

Polish
Gold Class
NXT

or

Polish
NXT
Gold Class

Which would be better?

I say Polish - NXT - Gold Class if you want to use all those products.

NXT has some cleaning abilities so put it on before Gold Class or else it can get rid of some Gold class if you put it last.

Rule of thumb is Carnuba on top of sealant. When you put Carnuba under sealant, may as well forget putting the sealant on for all the good that it will do you. As the wax melts/evaporates, the sealant goes with it.

Now that being said, I have seen conflicting info about Gold Class, one place I saw that it was Carnuba, on the box it says that it is a polymer...... I understand that the NXT is a polymer....Maybe someone that uses these products can shed some light.

Myself... I just prefer doing the sealant and leaving it, but then I am using Four Star UPP.

My routine:
Wash
Clay
Polish (cleaner polish or swirl remover depending on need)
Polymer Sealant

Too many products with not enough info about what they REALLY are, or if they are a wax, a polish, a paint cleaner or a spluge shot...... Just the manufacturer's trying to get us consumers to by more products that we probably really don't need...

Nice pics.

The carpet almost looks purple in those pictures... hehe. I have noticed that it's not quite black, but luckily it's really not that light.

Savio, did you clean/condition your seats? The last two pictures looks like something was put on and they were just smeared around.

Yeah I did clean and condition the seats. I used Lexol cleaner and conditioner.

I thoroughly applied it but it looks fine now that it was dried.

Oops, sorry, sealed with NXT. Up to this past weekend I'd never done more than just put NXT on. First time claying and polishing so I was very impressed with the results. Bought Clay Magic, polished with Meguires Cleaner Wax, then a coat of NXT. Those products should be OK right?

The Megs #6, which is the cleaner wax, isnt really compatible with NXT. I mean its ok, you got a quick polish and protectant with that, but you applied a Polymer on top of a Nuba, which in the detailing world isnt preffered. NXT, has some mild cleaners in it, hopefully enough to remove the Nuba and make a good bond. Next time use a real nice light grade polish or cleaner before using NXT, I think you'll find the surface much slicker, and durable......"A" for effort though !

So I didn't harm anything? whew. Good to know. My next wash, if I wash, then use Megs Deep Crystal Polish, will it take the Megs #6 off? Just wash, Megs Deep Crystal Polish, and then NXT. Just wanted to verify so I don't it up again.
