Acura dealer wax..

I have the option to get my car waxed for free at the dealer (long story...)

Is it worth it? I know not to let them wash my car, but does anybody have any experience with the dealer waxing their car? What type of wax do they use? I like my NXT wax, so if that's an issue, i'll give it to them to use. I would assume that an Acura dealer would have a quality detailer, but I could be wrong..

Thoughts? or

it really depends... not every dealership has professional detailer...some of them send cars off to detail places. I will ask before I get it done there

I say no. I don't know about Acura, but one Honda dealership I went to, they were washing the car with those brush you find at self serve wash. If they can't wash properly, chances are they won't do a good job. Better to do it yourself.

No. The issue isn't the wax they use, its how they wash and dry your car and the cloths they use.

I'd rather do it myself.

If you trust who your dealership uses to detail the cars (mine just hires people to do that all day) - then go for it. I've seen people wash the cars there with wash brooms and use the same soap all day for all the cars. Miraculously though, the cars come out looking nice and new. Still though, they wouldn't be my first choice.

Good points. I have problem with them washing my car, so I don't think I want to let them wax it (esp. since they'll wash it before they wax it).

i just got my TL back from service....Like a moron I let them wash my car..The car looked dirtier than when I brought it in, they barley dried the car and had tire wet all over my rims..I had to go home and wash it again myself. I'm never letting them was the car again, i would definetly not let them wax it.

If they wax the car like they wash it .... hell, no. Just do it yourself with the wax/products you use. Unless, they have a full time detail shop where they will take the time to do it right, only then would I consider it. Other than that, it's totally DIY.

Usually they will have a quality detailer, and they use Auto Armor products usually.
