8oz Optimum polishes being discontinued....

....I dunno, maybe Optimum thought I had too good a thing going? I had Optimums full permission to re-bottle in trial/sample sizes for about 2 years now. I always told Optimum they had too good of a thing going with 32 oz for under $20.00, and that not everyone wants an entire qt for personal use. So I sold the 8oz for folks such as yourself who wanted to try it on a few cars, or you had the 4oz size to just get an ida of what Optimum was all about. I guess all great things come to an end, and all good things are sometimes at the hands of others, and out of my control......
When I went to order more labels for my 4/8oz polishes, they told me they werent going to allow it anymore. I still have exclusive rights to the small sizes, but they will be shipping them out to me. So........as with everything these days, the price will be going up on the small 4oz. And if I want to keep carrying the 8oz, it looks like Optimum will have to bottle it for me.
I have already removed the 8ox polish from the store site, and when I run out of labels for the Compound and Hyper Compound, dont look for them anytime soon, just the 4oz. Probably go up 20% or so.

just bought the 4oz pack a few weeks ago, haven't used anything yet, hopefully this weekend but if it all works well, i'll be buying the larger size.

4oz was definitely cool for a sampler.

Going up 20%.... So, we're talking $1 or so? Not too bad I guess.... but still kinda sucks that they want more from the sales now.

The 32 oz'ers are gonna last me forever.

Thats unfortunate because to me it doesn't make a difference I use a lot but my way of thinking is if I was a nubie or wanting to try something else it was ideal.

$20 for the 32 oz is a hell of a deal but the size is hard to swallow if your trying to get someone to try out a great product.

I was just going to suggest to Patrick to try and put a starter kit together that had a UDM 3 pads and three 8 oz bottles of HC, C, P & PoliSeal.

There are a few forums I participate in and spring is here .. lots of questions being asked on "Whats a good kit to start with " and the 8 oz stuff made it realistic and affordable.

I was just showing Patrick a picture I took today .. yeep I like the OP line.

with the poliseal, do you need to work that in with a UDM or is it like a sealent where you apply and let dry.

I apply the PoliSeal with a PC or UDM and a black finishing pad on about 3 speed setting. No need to work it in as I use it for cleaning the surface and laying down a good base for the sealant.

I can put it on the TL in about 10 minutes then go back and use a M/F to remove whats left .

It goes on near clear with very little of anything left to take off.

does poliseal need to cure, or can you just pile on a sealant right after it dries.

This is from David at Optiseal

Thank you for your email and using the Optimum Car Care products. Poli-Seal does have sealants that cure overnight. However, you can apply Opti-Seal or other sealants and it would bond to them without any issues. In fact, many people apply Opti-Seal right over Polis-Seal to make the application process very easy. As long as you are not using acrylics over it, there should be no problem.
