303 Aerospace Protectant on Tires?

Hi all, I've just been reading about car cleaning and maintenance. One of the products that people favor is 303 Aerospace Protectant for the dash.

I was browsing the site and came up on their tech facts brochure. They recommended 303 on tires as well. Has anyone tried this? Here's the link: http://www.303products.com/tech/inde...Product_ID=378

If you don't use 303 to protect your tires, any recommendations? I want my tires to be shiny

P.S. I tried searching the forum, but "303" came up with nothing.

I found the answer in the TL tires forum. Guess I should have checked there first.

The 303 did a great job on the tires and wheels. Didn't leave a greasy/glossy looking tire, but more satiny - like it says on the side of the bottle.

Impressive.

It is nice. But don't get 303 on your threads. If you want shine, then go for the tire spray/gels.

I used the 303 protectant on my tires for a while and it only lasted a few days. I then switched to Mothers Reflections tire care and did not notice a difference between the two products in the looks department, but mothers lasts about a week and a half versus a few days. I do alot of driving in a week so it might be because of that.

I use 303 on my tires. Its probably not the best but its does a decent job and I like the fact that I only need 1 product - 303. I use it for everything , ... tires, dash, seats, trip, etc, etc.

Also, if you use 303 on your tires, clean your rims with it too. I have found that brake dust will come off alot easier if youve used 303 on the rims.

Tire dressings end up being one of those "find what rings your bell" products.

This is due to the wide variations in tire rubber, among other considerations. Some products work better on some tires, some brands, and then you have to keep in mind atmosprheric and other environmental conditions.

I like 303 for the UV protection. There are always a couple cars in my driveway that sit for too long outside. Hell, I dont think i moved the Camaro more than three times last summer. Actual shine results can vary as well, so try things that provide the results you seek as far as shine and durability go, 'cause for some the UV protection isnt that important. Thats OK too.

Thanks all for the responses.

Another popular product that I see recommended a lot is Meguiar's Endurance. People have said that it will last for a good few weeks (until the next wash) and comes in glossy and non-glossy.

For non-glossy, I use Meg's Gold Class Trim detailer on a sponge. It even lasts through rain!

Hi all, another question. Is it a good idea to use 303 for UV protection after you dressed the tires with another product? Or should the dressing provide UV protection already?

I really dont think you keep a tire long enough for UV damage to kick in, so I wouldnt worry about that...

It's waaay to greasy for me. It tends to fling on body parts.

I have been using Zaino tire gel. It's a milky liquid that sticks to the tires and gives a great shine.

I was going to buy a tire dressing, but figured I'd try 303 first since I had it already. It looks great (not too shiny) and it has lasted through two car washes and some rain so far. Good enough for me, I don't need to buy something extra!
