1966 Jaguar XKE-Type - Oakes Detail

This 1966 Jaguar was one of the finer, properly restored examples of this car that I have seen. However, the paint really needed some finishing and correction. The paint has been subject to some substances while sitting as well as a very good degreasing needed. Over the course of a couple days, this XKE-Type was brought back to all of its glory. Its a nice feeling knowing something so iconic can look as great as this example can drive!

Products Used: Brief List
Meguiars 105
Meguiars 205
Menzerna 106FA
P21S Paint Cleanser
Menzerna PowerLock x2
Surbuf Pads
LC Orange
LC Cyan Blue
Chemical Guys Pad Conditioner
Chemical Guys Citrus Wash
P21S Super Degreaser

The car as it arrived:

Wow, great job and AWESOME looking car!

Must be a real treat (and responsibility) to get to work on such a cool car.

Did it have a CC or single stage paint?

Thank you! This was a restoration that was redone in a CC.

Looks fantastic!

Just curious, why did you use the paint cleanser? Wouldn't anything on the paint come off during compounding/polishing anyways?

I can't say that I was, as I have worked on this same model vehicle 6 separate times already and some of them having original paint from the 60s. Those ones I was nervous for!

Paint cleanser is used after the correction process to remove any remaining polishing oils and residues left over. Thanks!

Please add NSFW to the thread title, I did not expect to see pornography (even if only the automotive kind). But in all seriousness, looks great!
