$%^& bugs...

Took me about 4 hours with Zaino Z-7, 3 buckets and 4 sheepskin Mits along with alot of water to clean up the TL today. The entire car had bugs splattered all over it and dirt from the road. The bugs were stuck on well despite having Zaino plastered all over the car. What is a good approach to getting the bugs off, including their guts which stay behind without stripping the Zaino on the car? BTW, i soaked the car with water (front end with the bugs) with water for more than 30 minutes while I cleaned up the rest of the car.

Have you tried any Bug & Tar remover yet?

Here's one by Turtle Wax, which I've personally used before and I think I've seen others mention on here.

Here's Stoner's Brand, which I personally haven't heard anything about. Maybe someone else will add their comments.

I would venture to say the Turtle Wax brand would be the safest to use over your zaino-ed car. On their site it says, "Not only will it clean, this product also leaves a shiny protective wax barrier that helps prevent future bugs and grime from sticking to exterior surfaces."

However, unless you recently did your car, now is a perfect time to re-polish / seal the entire car in preperation for winter

I just watched the video on the Stoner brand bug & tar remover and I was impressed when compared to 3 other brands (which are un-named). Although, keep in mind this is marketing for their product, so take from it what you will...

well, the problem is that I do not want to strip the zaino using the bug and tar removers. The wax is basically a tar (protective barrier), and the tar remover will remove it. I don't wish to reapply zaino every week when cleaning up the TL and yesterday I just got plain fed up with it.

I guess a wash towel thats been put under hot water, let it sit on the spot to break up the bug guts. Or a clay bar (fine clay bar)?

But i'd suggest the towel idea 1st.

I know you said they're all over the place, but are they mainly concentrated to one area? Can you use a product like that on the specific area (like the bumper only) then re-apply zaino there?

Otherwise, I like lusid's idea...let us know how it works out.

I had the hose attached to the garage faucet which had a mix of hot and cold water running, i had my little bro keep it on the front of the car while I washed the rest of the car, maybe 30 minutes or so. That didn't help at all. Applying zaino = NO! It took me 2 days to put on...

You could always use a large bath towel and just lay it on the front end of the car for as long as you can. Even overnight. WWhat you are trying to do is hydrate the bugs and splatter. It will literally wipe right off once they're rehydrated......

Ok, so hot water on a good flece blanket should do, how do I keep if from falling off and also do I have to resoak in hot water to rehydrate them? Lastly, will this help in getting rid of the clear splatter that they leave behind?

Apply a layer of (sacrificial) wax as an LSP to your sealant to the front of the vehicle once you've removed the exisiting debris. This wax can be wiped off and re-applied; Carnauba wax also provides better protection from bird excrement than a polymer, although I always apply a polymer underneath the wax for durability.
