Anyone actually install yet?? I'm anxoius to get them but I wasn't sure if anyone beat me to them and what their impressions are. Thanks

dcarlinf1 01-13-2004 03:27 PM

Hey Snook, is there anything else (besides the springs) available yet that is just for the 04 TL? Just wondering if I missed any other announcements.

Thanks,

Bitium 01-13-2004 04:22 PM

The 6spd is really going to help the aftermarket for the TL. Sweet....

Installation set for comptech springs on tuesday. Looking foward to getting rid of some of that fender well gap. Will post pictures as soon as I can.

sixspdbrd 01-16-2004 12:59 PM

One thing that I am curious about is the camber issue. I have eibach pro-kit on my 02 and the camber is rediculous. The wear on the tires is almost humorous.

I am getting 6MT by summer and I hope that this wont be an issue again. someone please post pics from behind showing the camber when you can. Thanks!

danno 01-16-2004 01:07 PM

Thats with a 1.5 drop?

sixspdbrd 01-16-2004 04:34 PM

I should note that the camber was only really bad on the rear. I think the eibach is 2.1 front 1.7 rear...or something like that

FYI...I talked both to Comptech as well as my local dealer about camber issues....both assure me that there is no camber kit needed with these springs as they should have little/no effect on the camber

danno 01-17-2004 07:58 AM

Thats what I was told also. But I ordered the rear camber kit also. Just in case. Springs are going on wed. Will return the camber kit to Comptech if they`re not needed

NathanSilver 01-17-2004 10:48 PM

Please post the pics and info ASAPractical.

The 1.0" 1.0" lowering mod should be great!

And....
subtle enough so the wife won't have knowledge of it !!!!!
Whoo whoo !!!

Lowering the CG but not the TL fun levels...

They look pretty good. 1" should not impose any camber problems. I have 1.5" on my 99 TL and the camber reading is just a little bit off the recomended range.

What wheels are being shown on the car??

njtls 01-18-2004 03:35 PM

thats either 19rear 18 front or 20rear 19front...the rake on that car is crazy

scelipt 01-19-2004 10:48 AM

I HAVE HAD THE SPRINGS AND RIMS INSTALLED

DRAMATIC DIFFERENCE THE EIBACH SPRING MAKES

I DONT HAVE PICS YET B/C THE WEATHER IN NY IS WAY TO SH**TY
PLUS I WANTED TO WAIT UNTIL EVERYTHING WAS DONE NEXT WEEK

I ALSO WENT WITH 8.5 IN RIM WITH HUGE DIFFERENCE THERE. TORUE STEER SEEMS MUCH IMPROVED.

SO FAR ON MY CAR I HAVE

SILVER METALLIC 5ST
EBONY/NAV
EIBACH PRO KIT 1 INCH DROP
ZINETTI PHANTOMS MACHINE BLACK 18X 8.5
TOYO PROXES FZ4 235/40/18
GROUND EFFECTS
BACK UP SENSOR
K40 CUSTOM INSTALLATION
20% NON METALLIC TINT

WHAT I HAVE YET TO BE INSTALLED

HIGH PRFORMANCE BRAKE PADS
6MT ROTORS (BREMBRO VENTED)
ASPEC BADGE
DECKLID SPOILER

IF YOU DO THE MATH ON THIS WITH THE DEALERS INSTALLATION OF CERTAIN THINGS. TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE ROTORS. THE A-SPEC KIT WOULD HAVE BEEN 7 INSTALLED. SO FAR I HAVE SPENT $2400 FOR RIMS, TIRES, AND SPRINGS INSTALLED. THE DEALER HAS GOTTEN $2500 FOR THE GROUND EFFECTS. THAT IS $4900 NOW IF YOU COUNT THE BREAK PADS AND ROTORS INSTALLED ANOTHER $2000 WITH THE DECK LID SPOILER. WAY MORE VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY B/C I AM GETTING THE ROTORS INCLUDED WITH ALL THE OTHER STUFF.

WILL POST AS SSON AS I HAVE MORE INFO

ndabunka 01-19-2004 11:14 PM

Scelipt - What did the K40 setup run you? Do you have prices for the gear separate from the installation?

scelipt 01-20-2004 11:27 AM

The k 40 was 1400 installed by a dealer guy. They were cheaper then my guy who usually does my work. The istall was mint flush mount by the guages cant see anything real nice work.

Comptech Springs Now Shipping!

I have mine on order and should receive them within one week. Here's a question for all of you..... Is a camber kit needed for only a one inch drop that the Comptech springs provide? I plan to have all four wheels alligned as part of the install. I'm also sporting the Bazo B52s 19s w/Falkins ST15s.

Any replys?

danno 01-21-2004 07:37 AM

I`m having the springs installed as I post this and the dealer re- confirmed that the camber kit will not be needed with the comptech springs. I will give a post when I pick up the car today.

Fellow TLr 01-21-2004 07:50 AM

Thanks. I look forward to your reply.

The springs did a great job lessening the wheel gap.

South Bay Acura will have the performance upgrade counter set up in March.

Dam it was hot today, getting closer to %50 tint...

Comptech springs installed yesterday. Looks great! ride is better than factory ride. Acura tech says it rides and handles better than A Spec. I have not driven it too hard in turns yet, but I am very pleased. I will post pics soon. No camber problems.

ndabunka 01-22-2004 08:48 PM

Disregard - Saw other post on actually installation costs. For some reason was not able to delete this but was able to edit it. Strange?

Fellow TLr 01-23-2004 09:31 AM

imareck, Glad to hear you're enjoying the new springs. Even better, I'm glad to hear they were able to allign your TL on all four wheels without the use of camber kits. I'm looking forward to installing them on my 04. I look forward to your pics.

Just ordered springs today from a local shop....$190 for the Comptechs and $150 for install..not bad, huh? Install sometime between Weds. and Sat. of next week.

Fellow TLr 01-23-2004 03:37 PM

Hello TLrs.
I just received my springs from Comptech. As I opened the box, I noticed the label said 2004 Acura TSX. As you may have guessed, I called Comptech. The rep I spoke to said they're using this spring on the Accord, TSX and TL global platform. He went on to say that he's received reports of other 04 TLrs using the springs with no camber kit. I'm scheduled to have them installed next week. Look'n forward to it.

Yup...same spring (part # 110155). I was bothered by it at first but asked around and found out its a kind of typical deal...good luck with the install

Fellow TLr 01-23-2004 03:59 PM

Question for you. In your opinion, was the car dropped evenly? The 04 TL on the Comptech site appears lower in the front. Please post pics.

If referring to me....I have not had it done yet...next week for me as well....I have not heard anyone say that there is any sort of a rake with these springs...Comptech claims an even 1" all around
