Question Tire Plug in Rear Tire, Rotate to Front?

As the title states. My right rear tire had to be plugged a while back due to a nail. It was located about 2" from the sidewall so not too far in, but close enough for me to want to ask this question.

It has been sealed for months and not losing any air. Do you all think it would be a safety hazard to rotate the tires to front? I'm leaning towards "no it's safe to rotate," but would always appreciate the input of my fellow AZiners.

I think you'll be fine if it was a plug AND patch repair.
If it was a plug-only, !!

Both of my OEM Michelin MXM4 rear tires got nails in the treads and were plugged and patched-- they were rotated to the front, then back to the rear, etc. and were fine for over two years after the punctures: almost 50K total miles on the tires before being replaced with the present Yoko Advan S4s.

I didn't track or autocross the car, however, and never exceeded 95 mph.

Ha so that's a no from Will?

Currently I am running BFG G Force Sports in the OEM 17" size. I've plugged tires for years on my much lighter cars, Integra, RSX, Civic and rotated without issue. The weight of this one just made me a little squirmish. I don't drive this car hard, spirited at most lol. Just my A to B commuter.

Plug/patch only.
In fact, the NHTSA only permits a plug/patch.

Having said that, I've plugged tires for years with no problems.

Ahh yes, swapped the fronts with (inside wear from spirited driving probably) Goodyear Eagle GTs.

The rears (plug intact) will stay until it's time to rotate again and replaced with the Eagle GTs on all fours.
