What state you live in? Are you willing to buy used wheels that would MSRP over 2G but you can get them cheaper or do you want brand new wheels that cost almost 2G brand new?
I have Work VSMX in 18in. Paid $1000 but easily MSRP for over that.
But if you want brand new then you would probably be looking at brands like Vossen, Varrstoen, Konig, AG, etc etc.
Used or new it doesnt matter, i was looking into vossens the ones that mike chan put on the ilx but idk now lol

You'll need to define for us what you consider the "best" to be? Weight, quality, brand name? Pimp shit to get the hos? Ho shit to get the bros?

Your wheels look good man. I'll be honest, at first in some pics i was like ehhh.. or something.... But I actually did check out your instagram and I take it back, cuz they looked really nice on the car. Maybe it was just the angle or something in the first pics... Originally Posted by Jorgee

I REALLY want to get 19x8.5 or maybe even 19x9, wouldn't go wider, I'm into form and function.... Wider might still look cool, but is most likely taking away from performance... BUT, i think with really big faces i MIGHT be OK with some 18x8.5 or 18x9's... Although I would prefer the 19's... 18 is still visually pretty good, and probably perform better then 19's would...
OP - if you want visually appealing wheels, the sizes I would say to look at are 18's and 19's. 20 is generally gonna be too big. There is one guy on here that did it, look if you want, it looks cool, i mean he did get visually appealing wheels... but he got a lot of comments about "its too big" and stuff... So, IF you want a bigger visual change for your car, mostly going for looks... I'm gonna say go 19's, because your came with 17's, or Aspec 18's. If you get 18's, and you had 17's you may still be happy, but probably won't be as happy as if you had gone 19. IF you really don't care about MPG or performance, as in handling ability, cornering, road harshness /ride quality/feel ...and all that... you could even get some wide and staggered wheels, purely for looks because it's going to degrade performance due to this car being FWD and those wheels being (most likely) pretty heavy. I can't really recommend that, because I am into at least attempting to improve performance.
Anyway, the 2016 refresh has also grown on me in general, I still prefer how mine looks wise, but the main differences that I don't like, such as the pointier beak below the grill, and the big civic-like air dams on the front and rear bumper are actually a lot less noticeable in person... Most likely it stood out to me much more because again, I'm comparing it to my car, so my eyes immediately jump to that. Obviously there are interior differences depending on trim and stuff, but the basic body lines, frame, all the same. So I actually still like it.
Its actually funny to me tho... the 2016 with the ASPEC kit is the most aggressive looking, by far... yet it's not offered in stick shift... And it probably has the most potential to look like a sportiest ILX model... Yet it will most likely not get much aftermarket support, because it's auto and does not share the same k24 model motor as the heavly supported Civic SI... Most likely an intake, and maybe, maybe, an exhaust will come out... You can always get an exhaust made tho... And MAYBE their will be some cross fitment available from TLX stuff?
Another thing I've really noticed that kinda is funny is how differently people view the ILX and what they wanted depending on the model... Most people getting the 2013-2015 6spd models were basically looking for a fun sporty entry luxury car, maybe had an SI or something like that before, and want something more mature, but still want some fun.
The 2016 has more of a luxury look, because of the headlights and depending on the tech package you choose and all that... so i guess Acura realized that more people wanted more of that, because they didn't really sell a ton of the 6 speeds,... then again... they didn't produce a ton to begin with, its a relatively "rare" model...
at its bones they are the same car, but the trims are so different, they attract pretty different buyers...
just kinda interesting to me...

The offsets are going to be very different from wheel to wheel. Depends on lot of things. Is it a one piece wheel? (tenzo's probably are)... Is it a flat face? Is it concave face? A deep concave face? Is it an 8 inch wide wheel? Or is it 9.5?Originally Posted by mmhdavid

Depending on the wheel offset, and also how much of a drop you have, you can actually fit up to a 9 inch wide wheel without doing fender work or even rubbing. 9.5, I'm pretty sure you will have to, or you at least have some rubbing.
What i would suggest is simply going to a wheel shop and attempt to bust a somewhat dirtbag move... LOL
Try to get them to test fit some wheels you are interested in, even if they are reps, or only very similar to ones you really want. That way you can actually see what it looks like on your car. Make sure you find out what width and size offset the test fit wheels are, and then either actually buy them or use that info to get something else in the size you want. Tip the people since you basically wasted their time. Or buy wheels from them, since they are giving you good customer service.
Bigger wheels cost more. Wider wheels cost more. Bigger tires cost more. Wider tires cost more. Bigger wider wheels and tires can add performance and handling. Wheels and tires that are too big, decrease performance and drop MPG. All things to consider. 18x8.5, maybe 18x9 is probably biggest widest you should go if you want looks and performance. More looks and decent (street) performance 19x8.5. If you were going straight race car, 17x9 and beefy as hell tires.

The link is to part 1 of a 10 part guide on suspension and handling. Its all about wheels and tires, has a list of companies that sell tires/wheels that would probably interest you.
don't need to read all 10 parts, gets very in depth and is not totally necessary for your question take a look at part 1 will probably find some of the answers you are looking for.

The Ultimate guide to Suspension and Handling Part 1, Wheels and Tires
5Ziggen FN01R-C, Pro Racer
Rays Gram Light C series
Team Dynamics Procomp
Team Dynamics Prorace
Kosei K1
Work Emotion, XSA
Axis Reverb
OZ Racing Series
OP- dude, if you want at least decent quality... just stick to this guide. Its pretty accurate
Also suggest TSW and MRR... not the lightest, but definitely not the heaviest. Good quality as well, and pretty mainstream and readily available at most tire/rim shops and are visually appealing.

I've narrowed it down to OZ, either super turismo or ultra leggera, and niche m112 surge but I have never heard or seen them around, the guy at a wheel shop suggested them are they any good?

Niche wheels makes a bunch of Vossen reps. So reps of reps.
If you go niche go forged. Ripped off designs but at least they are forged.
The name OZ is very well known but I frankly I yet to see a nice build on them. Only times I really see OZ name is in Need for Speed or Forza racing games. lol
As for the designs you are choosing. You can find a similar design by almost any wheel manufacturer.
So I suggest browsing VRwheels or threepiece and having them ship you some used wheels. Both companies literally only deal in quality wheels from quality companies.
Neither sell Niche wheels. I have yet to see either sell OZ wheels. I could be very wrong but to me I think OZ parts are similar to Sparco parts. Kind of like well known Pep Boys brands. They get the job done but their name doesnt carry weight like Volk, Work, Weds, etc etc.
Do you have instagram? If so follow threepiece and vrwheels. Hold onto the 2G limit you said and wait for something used to show up in good condition. You'll end up paying 2G for something worth 3G verse buying niche wheels and spending 2G on something worth 1G once youve mounted them and they are no longer brand new.

All the above wheels would look great on an ILX... or any car for that matter.
All the correct sizing (may need hubcentric rings) and all under 2G but worth far more. Many discontinued from overseas.
Last two are amazing sets and Id give up my wheels for them in a heart beat!

I would have to sell my wheels private party before any of those sold. Frankly right now I am not willing to try and sell my wheels. I.e. post an ad, take time to respond if anyone is interested, dealing with low ballers, no shows... fuck that jive.
Really, the Wald wheels are sick as fuck but Id probably keep my Works over those. If they were both sitting infront of me for the same price (they pretty much are) then I may have gone with the Walds simply based on their specs being perfect as is. But I like the design of my works more. They just need new specs.
The weds borphes however are the only wheel I like as much as my Work VSMX. I love the design. It is a little more cluttered than my design so they would look better on a car with more going on like the crazy kitted VIP style cars. But I have always had a soft spot for the Borphes.

Such an awesome looking wheel IMO. Like a cross between a euro mesh and split 5 spoke design. And I love the devil horn center cap design.
Only thing I like more about my VSMX are the center caps/hex cap covering the lugs.

This shows how very little you (and they) know and that you only care about brand names that get repeatedly thrown around and around the #JDM #stance #hellaflush scene.
OZ Racing is a big wheel company. They compete against BBS. They supply wheels to many racing teams that compete in F1, Le Mans, DTM, FIA WEC, WRC, etc.
I understand racing may be foreign to you vs people who just like to park their cars and show off their wheels.

That's a load of bull. Do you think the people running threepiece, vrwheels, etc. are dumb and don't know what the wheels they're selling are worth? If the wheels are worth $3K, they'd be selling them for $3K, not $2K.Originally Posted by usdmJON

My apologies. I tried to make my comments on OZ sound like it was a guess. I said "I think" but I suppose I could have prefaced with "shot in the dark but my guess is."Originally Posted by AZuser

OZ Racing is a big wheel company. They compete against BBS. They supply wheels to many racing teams that compete in F1, Le Mans, DTM, FIA WEC, WRC, etc.
So no that isnt the crap my buddies in the know are saying. As I said "I think." I am allowed to be wrong when making flat out assumptions.
As I said, I dont see OZ around much and the only times I do are on Forza/Need for Speed. I said flat out I dont know shit about OZ and ASSUME they could be compared to Sparco... another company I dont know shit about.

If you buy Weds from VR you will spend 2G for something that retailed at 3G. Prices go down once something is used.Originally Posted by AZuser
That's a load of bull. Do you think the people running threepiece, vrwheels, etc. are dumb and don't know what the wheels they're selling are worth? If the wheels are worth $3K, they'd be selling them for $3K, not $2K.
Look at my wheels. Retailed for near the exact same price as VSXX. I bought them used for 1G. Worth about 2G BRAND NEW.
But if you go buy brand new Niche wheels you are paying full MSRP which is like 2G then when you go to sell they are worth only 1G TOPS.
My point here is buying used means you get a much better deal and pay less than what something is worth. The same would happen if he bought used Niche/reps but no one ever buys used reps. Its always brand new in box reps verse used weds/bbs/works. This is what I am arguing here.
My Work VS-MX... MSRP for over 2G. I paid 1G used. If I resell I should get 1G obviously still used.
I get back what I paid for here.
Take Niche wheels MSRP at 2G. You pay 2G. You try to resell and they sell for 1G because now they are used.
You get back half what you paid.
Any questions?

Doesn't mean those used $2K wheels are worth $3K as you state. If something is worth $3K, then by definition you can sell said item for $3K. The fact that you cannot means they are not worth $3K.Originally Posted by usdmJON

Wrong. By definition, if something is worth X, it should sell for X. The fact that you're paying less than X means they're not worth X.Originally Posted by usdmJON

The same applies to new Work, Volk, whatever #JDM brand wheel. I've seen it many times. Someone pays $3K-$4K for new Volk TE37's and ends up selling them for $2K-$3K later, even in mint condition.Originally Posted by usdmJON

Nope. Never said that. Some of you just like to claim I make these comments then blow up when an opinion I openly stated may be wrong is in fact wrong. Originally Posted by AZuser

If OP buys brand new niche wheels they will devalue the moment he unboxes them. If he buys used wheels they wont devalue because they already have. Therefor he is getting more than what he paid for.
1k = brand new niche that lose half their value the moment you put them on.
1k = used Works that were originally bought for 2k and wont devalue any more because they already dropped half.

So then get the fuck out and stop arguing if what I am saying is obvious. Originally Posted by AZuser
