Window Lock Button Question
I recently had the cover come off the button that locks all the windows. It was a cover with a prong on each side and one of the prongs broke so it won't stay on. Is there somewhere I can buy this online or do I have to contact Acura? I ask because the Acura dealers are out of the way for me so buying online would be easier.

By the looks of it, seems as though your switches on driver sides are all one unit. Considering the join date, you have an 04. IDK though, you need the following then, otherwise you could rig up some spacers to work, but this unit will set you back about a buck 40 ($140.00)

LOL 140?!
yo man, the same thign happened to me... i have no clue what happened, one night i came into my car and saw the tab broken off.. one side was broken... =\ what i did was go to the store and bought some superglue..... make sure its on properly and then glue where NO THERES NO LIGHT PASSAGE, and there u go fixed for $1.40 not $140 Lol!@ |
by the looks of it, just add some sort of spacers, glue them in and then there ya go. the button will compress the switch and you fixed.
Jut like OmeGa101 says |
Yeah...I think I am going to try the super glue approach. Was trying to do it right...but not paying $140 for that.....same thing happened to me....one day I saw it was missing...and I thought it was gone...but it had luckily fallen in my map compartment in the door.

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/..._SWITCH_ASSY.# I had the same problem (I think). First of all, I don't even ever use the window lock button but a few days ago I closed my door and noticed it just popped off. The black cover is what popped off an ya it has prongs on each end and one end broke off (again, it is just he cover, the button itself works). I still have B2B warranty on mine so there should be no problem whatsoever getting this replaced free at the dealer. |
Found Window Lock Button
I found the dreaded window lock button and it is not $140.00...it is listed at like $2.50 and part number is 35751-SEP-A01....

I had my button top break off. real annoying. Dealership told me they don't have button covers separate, and that I'd have to get a new button. Good thing that was under warranty!

Whoa bumped thread
I had this happen - Used superglue and everything's good. |
I always call the local junk yards for parts that aren't directly related to performance or safety.
|
Yup this happened to me about a week after got the car. Was gonna superglue but haven't been that motivated and I never use that button.

Superglue ftw

Replacement window lock button cover for 2005 tl
Is this part really the replacement for what I need (as seen here)?
The button still works fine, but unfortunately when I bought the car the cover was gone. Any info on how to get just the cover would be appreciated! |

wow I thought I was the only one with this prob. I bought it with that light cover broken
|
superglue is all you need unless you lost the cover.
|
I did buy the part, it is the correct one. if you just lost the cover, you'll need to break the top part off of the red part. Becareful not to break the clips. It worked for me!
|
bump for this thread. Glad I'm not the only one with this issue. thanks for the part #35751-SEP-A01
|
This recently happened to me, Acura got me the replacement piece for free :)
|
I also bought my 06 with this cover missing, the red part is there. Got the replacement part, pried the cover off, but when I install on the existing red portion the button stops working (doesn't spring back up).
Anyone else? help? |
This happened to me as well, thanks a bunch for the part #!
