What's your "collector/unicorn" 3G TL?

So....suppose you have $19,000 burning a hole in your wallet. What kind of 3G TL would it take for you to part with that much money? The $19,000 is really a very arbitrary number that I thought is high enough but not ludicrous for a certain type of 3G TL. Could be like $17,000 or $18,000. You know. Just off the top of my head.

On BaT, this 08 TL-S 6MT was sold for a tad under 16k: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-acura-tl-3/

What would be your $19,000 TL?

For me...maybe something like this: 2008 TL-S 6MT in KBP, late MFR date (mid to late 2008 production sticker, or when ever it was about end production), mint inside and out, fully paint corrected, OEM waffle wheels in mint shape, no leather/dash cracks or even that many creases, 1-owner with every service record since mile 0, probably less than 30k miles....or maybe owned by some famous person that will go up in value in future....

Alright, your turn!

If there was a 2008 TL Type-S 6MT with 1,000 miles on it, regardless of color, I still wouldn't spend $19,000.

It would have to be in great shape, all service records, under 60k miles, And have forced induction. But FI would take it over 19k.

I would preffer a dealer Comptech kit with all the Comptech goodies.

for $19k I would take one of the car that transform Lexus from a boring cars to somewhat the ONLY Japanese auto manufacture that actually try to match the BMW M3. The car that started everything for the Lexus brand.

I would take a 08-09 Lexus ISF for $19k please.

For $19K, I'd just get some hookers and blow and call it a good weekend

Unless I missed something, it is just one misinformed individual selling a bone stock Type-S with 50,000 miles on the clock for that kind of coin.

way cooler cars out there!

realistic speaking, i'd throw the $19k into a Macan S and finance the remaining $11k.

for a clean '15 Macan S, yep! $30-32k depending on how clean you want it.

it's already turbo'd and it's under VG, or Volkswagen Group and has tunes for big boy numbers.

i mean, that's if i was playing with $19k in cash.
the other route would be financing the remaining on an RS7.

lol big boy numbers.

Pay off both my cars and live payment free and not be a complete OCD nut about the vehicles I drive. The older I get the less anal I am about stuff. But still have a soft spot for my TL-S. No body can park next to it.

Best to just not buy another car until you have the funds to purchase it. I don’t ever want to pay monthly for a car and pretend it’s mine.

Op, you didn’t even include that it had the aspec kit installed, so idk about you

anD I definitely wouldn’t spend 20k on a 3G. I had to swallow the pill for just south of 10k lol

you should show the picture you showed me of the Silver TL and the rest of the gang chillin in your driveway.

I was watching a movie when I get a text from The (pronounced T), showing 5 TL's in his driveway. I absolutely lost my shit, this dude is collecting them! lol

Excuse me, 4 TL's and an RL hiding

MY TL is the only TL for me. My TL is in great shape, has 87k miles or so, no issues with the dash (minus the airbag outline) seats are in good shape all around and it's always been garaged / parking deck minus maybe 6 months of it's life. So Headlamps have zero sign of yellowing and the black plastic trim on the exterior looks mint. However, I doubt I'd spend 19k for it, but then again, I've been out of the loop with car shopping honestly. I'm not sure what 16-19k buys you.
Earlier in the TL's life, I would have liked some TEIN coilovers and maybe some RonJon wheels, but at the time I had other financial priorities and by the time I got to revisit the topic, I started liking that the TL was stock, so that's how it'll remain.

I have to say, the love the 3G is getting on the forum makes me want to hold on to it even more. I know the KBP or White is more desirable, but personally, I like how ASM matches with the wheels.
