128k here on a 2006. I just had to rebuild the transmission at 127k, didn't know it'd be this much of a PITA though

Hit the 200k mark this morning.

Original owner/original tranny.

That being said, there is a tranny shudder that developed in the past couple of weeks but goes away after stepping on the gas and going to a higher gear. I'm gonna try another 1x3 and change out the 3/4 switches. Numerous lights out in HVAC and I just had the AC Evaporator fixed last month.

Here's to another 200k...

Hit 300k on my 2008 Type S on the way home from work today.
My only major issue was the radiator failed at 297K. Car still runs great!

I'm at 245,000 on my 2004 AT. Running strong and have never had a "failure". Original engine and trans. Only issue have been the Navi that's gone haywire about 2 years ago and is unusable. And now just recently have seen my transmission indicator light on the dash periodically blinking. Just started reading about what it might mean and it doesn't sound good...

Hit 200,000 miles rolling into work this morning. 2007 with almost everything original excepts for a couple of sets of brakes, tires, and a couple of timing belts/wp.

Now for another 200,000 miles.

Interesting. I'm at 124k and I am experiencing the exact same shudder. There was only one previous owner and he kept very precise maintenance records but none that note a tranny drain/fill. I am planning on doing the 1x3 and replacing the 3/4 switches as well within the next couple months. It's not as mandatory for me as I have owned my TL for over two years and have only put less than 10k mile on her, but I would definitely like to hear if it fixed your issue.

Those lights are pretty easy to change out. Look up removing the stereo on YouTube, the rest is super easy. HVAC control panlel on the non-navi is about 2" deep. Get all the lights from acurazine and it might be a 2-3 hour job if you've never taken the center console apart. Just be very careful with the metal or wood grain strips that line the center console/stereo. Those are kinda pricy...

I'm no where near you guys; just rolled 79k on my 2006 while running some errands yesterday. The car has its quirks but for being 9years old, I'm very happy with it. Looking forward to another 2-3years of troublefree service!

Hit 170K this morning on my 2008, I'm the 3rd owner and looks like the last owner didn't do ANY maintenance other than oil changes so I'm stuck with the timing belt/water pump replacement, brakes are ready to be serviced, spark plugs, air filter, tranny flush/fill and I think the motor mounts are fried.
Not to mention the lady never added tinted windows or applied leather protectant so the leather is petrified but I loved the TL so much, I bought the car any way.

We should have a 500K mile club. This will involve a meetup, BBQ and a large cake that says 500K!

Hi There,

If I were you, I would determine very quickly whether or not the timing belt was ever replaced. If you cannot with any certainty determine if / when it was replaced I would just replace it, as the penalty for being wrong about this is severe (as in requiring major engine work)!

Good Luck,

145K on 2005 AT. All in all, good car.
Left us stranded twice (more than any car I've owned). 1st was bad fuel pump at around 80K and second was gas pedal sensor at around 120k. Needed a tow both times.
PS is starting to whine so I ordered the o-rings to fix. Supposedly there's a small leak from the PS pump as well (according to firestone mechanic).
Full synthethic oil since we bought the car with 17k miles and changed every 8k-10k miles. Hoping to get 200k miles before trading in for a newer Acura, maybe TLX.

I bought mine imported and used in the Dominican Republic, it's a 2006 TL, when I bought it 5 years ago they claimed it had 44,000, a fast carfax check read 171,000 miles. So i put 85,000 miles on it so even if it reads 130k something it should be close to 300k. The tranny blew on me twice, basically I went thru a mountain road and back I guess the tranny over heated and it blew the first time no previous symptoms, other than that the car is flawless. I changed the timing belt and water pump when it hit 90k (so that would have been around 225k) still uses 5-20 oil. The radiator cap was damaged and when it was really hot the car got a lil hot but it was ok after I replaced the radiator cap. The heater hose got puncture once and couldn't find it here since we don't use heater here.

That is the history of my car.

You must take into consideration that we have way more dust and dirt here than what you get there.

My 2004 TL Base is still going strong with 230+ k miles.I put 60k after my 1st year owning it, and blew out my extended warranty quickly. (2nd owner, I bought with 37k on her)
Routine maint. About to change timing belt again.
Have replaced motor mounts, CV axles and routine brake service. Last brake job, I added Brembo pads and rotors, (non slotted or cross drilled)
I JUST had the interior redone.
Seats were trashed with so many miles of my ass in them.

The seats look great. I see you replaced the door trim as well. How difficult of a job was it?

It added 35 bucks per door to the cost.I had a shop install everything, I would probably still be working on it if I was doing it on my own.
I can pull any of the mechanical stuff apart and put it back the same way or better, but the stuff like interior, I let someone who has their technique down do it.

Hello,

My acura tl is a 1 owner that have 102,000 miles, My engine and transmission runs strong. The only major service that's coming up is the 105k service, I'm gathering up all my parts and will be doing the work spring of next year. I also have a 99 tl with 211,000 miles and she's very dependable except for replacing my transmission, I really like the 2nd gen tl's but i love my 3rd gen tl better.

I have just over 54,000 miles on my 2006 Base. Before this I had a 2006 Accord V6 EX-L with 112k miles. I gave that to my mother since she needed a better car than her '99 Saturn SL2. I've had it for 2 months and have done the o-ring fix (and also did it on the Accord since it started whining last winter), replaced power steering fluid, and am most likely going to do the heater control valve when it comes in this week. The heat works, but I just feel like it takes too long to get up to the set temperature and think this may do the trick. I plan to buy new wheels (and possibly tires depending on how the ones on it perform in the snow) in the spring as well as an A-Spec front lip. We'll see how everything goes. I love it so far, and am very thankful for this great online community that has helped me already a few times!

Just hit 108,000 on my 2008 TL as I pulled into the parking lot at work today.

I had the 105K service done 2 weeks ago, which also uncovered a leaking oil pump. That was a lot of money to spend at once on a service that I don't see anything physically different. I keep telling myself that service will hopefully get another 100,000 miles out of the car. Fingers crossed.

Original owner at 233K, 11 years and still flying high! Over the last 2 years, I did all this, much of it by Paul, our STAR mechanic in NJ:

- timing belt/water pump
- motor mounts
- clutch & flywheel
- rear stabilizer links
- rear stabilizer link brackets
- PCV valve
- Headlamps
- Headlamp ignitor
- Fog Light lamps (as they're also DRL's)
- had engine valves adjusted
- Navigation System DVD Player rebuilt
- brake light switch
- horns
- all hoses
- spark plugs
- shift knob
- CD changer/player rebuilt
- A/C compressor, 3 years ago

I frequently get offers from Acura dealer employees who tell me how rare this combination is wanting to buy it. So, along with regular oil changes using synthetic oil, I'm good for at least another 100K!

04' 5AT with 156k. Bought it with 154k, and my mechanic couldn't find anything wrong with it. PO bought it cpo from Acura with 50k and had service records from then. The only thing I'm worried about, is he was buying 2 new tires almost every 15k miles. I don't know how or why he was going through them that fast, but I couldn't find any alignment or suspension problems. I guess westchester county's roads took a toll on it. Other than that, it is a solid car.

Now at 262K. Original owner, original transmission.

Had the 3rd and 4th gear switches replaced a while ago which helped with the shudder for a little while but it recently came back worse than before. Just had a 3x3 done and no more shudder!

What transmission fluid have you been using, and how often have you been changing it? Have you don any other maintenance to keep it running so long? You may have the highest mileage original transmission!

All transmission fluid changes have been at the dealership so ATF-DW1. All previous fluid changes were simple 3x1 and the last one was done about 100K miles ago (per records, not my memory, and only when the Maintenance Minder said so). This was my first 3x3.

Only other thing that's been done were the two pressure switches a little while ago.

Almost all of my miles are on the freeway and my round-trip commute is 130 miles per day.

130k and still doing great! No big issues but brakes seems to lock up easily.
